Neither Valk is close and I can't check for myself.  Not including the shock mount, The four bolts that attach the rear fender strut to the bike/fender has long bolts that go in from the sides and nut on the back or inside, if my memory serves me right?  Can these long bolts be put in from the inside and the nut - or my idea of a coupler nut be put on the outside?  I want full brackets and bags as a quick disconnect option.  Possible?

Jerry, the rear bolts...smaller ones, can be fed in from the inside out after you remove the nut cage. I just used a SS carriage bolt, then you double nut it from the outside. I used a thick washer against the chrome fender rail, ~1/16" thick, then double nut it at that point. Does two things; it will pull the square section under the head of the carriage bolt into the inner part of the fender, and the second nut locks the bolt in place. The two nuts also act as the needed spacer, place the saddlebag rack in place and I use a chrome nut on the outside. The front bolt is a bit more involved. It screws into a welded plate nut on the inside of the fender. I picked up a full threaded bolt and cut the head off, then by using a double nut it will let you screw it into the fender. Once in place, the double nut will work as a spacer, then place the bag mount on and put a chrome nut on the outside. I have a couple closeup pics if interested.

I follow,  cooldude looks like I have another project. I believe I better do the 800 Drifter first.  Oh and nut cage done on this one.
