The deal is done, the contract is signed.

The dates will be June 10 (early bird) - June 15, 2018.

Any last guesses before I post the location?

FYI, it will be in a state that has not hosted an InZane in the past.

UPDATE:  Roanoke, Virginia is the place!

You're only about 4600 miles off (as the crow fiies).  Apparently you weren't paying attention to previous hints.

With that then, which major airport would be nearest ? I don't think I can talk Brenda into over 5,000 miles. Also, how far away would a side trip to DC be ? (I guess this will pretty much be giving it away)

I flew from Phoenix to the local airport, with a connecting flight in Charlotte.

A trip to DC would take about 4 hours (plus or minus, based on the route taken)... that's one way.

Planning to get together with Trump?   Wink

Is it a "burg" or a "ville"....if so, which one? Or perhaps a city in a line from a well-played OCMS selection on my guitar playlist "...walkin' down south, out of ROANOKE..." ?

That must be two guesses.
VA Tech is in Blacksburg... already eliminated.
As for Roanoke.... ding, ding, ding!!

Less than 100 miles from your brother; just over 250 from your sister.

It is a nice area. Our local GWRRA State Rally has been in Roanoke/Salem VA for last 20 years. We’ve been going for 8 years. Should be a great time.

2800 miles one way...that's if my old girl will allow me to take her on a fairly  direct route that includes a good 2 - 3 days with nary a hill or decent curve. She wasn't sure what to do in '16 when our route was of a similar variety, and decided to greatly increase her appetite for fuel trying to get herself and yours truly through the monotony  Wink
Just out of curiosity, what was the other candidate, or do you prefer to avoid any possible second-guessing/complaining (not that that would ever happen here, right?) from the masses?

Thank you for the early notice, allowing those of us in one of the "Valkyrie Hinterlands" plenty of time to research and plan cooldude

The other area we were considering was Northwest, SC/Northeast, GA.  We couldn't find a big enough hotel.

1,089 miles from home each way...  If I take the shortest route.

(This is NOT a slam or negative comment in any way, please don't take it that way!!!)

I've been through this part of the country several times, so I'm about 50/50 as to if I'll go next year... Probably closer to 51/49 though... I'm gonna try to make it just for the camaraderie if nothing else, and look forward to it if I can make it happen.

(Already playing with routes, that 1,089 only goes to 1,177 if I detour down to Deal's Gap on the way... And 1,221 if I go through Deal's Gap and then up through Smoky Mountains National Park Smiley )

Whenever I stay in the same hotel more then 2 nights in a row, I consider that hotel to be my home at that point, so yeah, following that logic, one can go from home each way...  Cool

I'll need to research skydiving drop zones in the area, that'll be the best carrot on a stick to entice the spousal unit to approve the expedition...

Yep, but will have to burn home to pick up the Mrs first as there's no way she's missing the ride there....  and Heaven's forbid if the bike and I have to do more than a couple days on Interstates. The destination is fine, and the event itself is great.... but really, it's the ride to and from through places you've never seen is what it's all about... eh? Smiley

Roanoke, that's great, only 722 miles and I can do that in a day and a half if I can work out the logistics of someone to stay with my honey. Also have a great sis-in-law in Roanoke that I've not seen in a few years, by then she'll be 96 I believe, still lives alone. Just told my wife of the location, she said to start the planning now so if it works out I won't be stuck the last minute getting something fixed or replaced. Really looking forward to the possibility of making the trip, seeing all my old friends, making some new ones(I hope). Dang....that's a long way off.  Grin
