Got a puzzler...

Rode the Valk yesterday morning.   Temperature was in the high 40's - low 50's.  Engaged the choke and bike started right up.

Rode this morning.  Temperature around the same but slightly warmer (2-3 degrees).  Engaged the choke and the bike would not start.  Turned the choke off, and the bike started.  Engaged the choke with the engine running and it stalled.  Choke off and bike started again.

What would explain the choke working then not working 24 hours later?

Sounds like you don't really need the choke at those temps.

Mine will do the same thing.  I apply full choke when the temps are down and while cranking add just a wee bit of throttle and as soon as she starts just back off the choke.  nothing to worry about

I rarely use choke--in fact I don't even use throttle till after it starts, then just enough to keep her running.  Of course, weather has been mild.  Mostly I am trying to keep quiet as possible, early in the morning.  When I do use the choke, she fires right off and maintains a higher than normal idle till I back the choke off some.
