Horse apple pipes

Being a newbie I would appreciate any suggestions from the pros here. I bought my 99' standard back in July and apparently the seller had Mark T. convert 4" truck stacks with glass packs. Can these baffles be pulled out easily ? Are they wrapped with baffle matting and able to be re-wrapped ?
Would like to tone the sound down a little bit if possible.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Lots of good info here. I would also suggest emailing MarkT directly.

That would depend on how they were made. Some systems were built to have easily replaced glasspacks. However over the years we found these glasspacks don't burn out so in later years most were made with them welded in. Also most orders included silencers which are intended to reduce the volume like on trips. You can still get silencers for them if they weren't included when you got the bike. Last, many were ordered with Trombones which make them extra loud. Might want to check the bones aren't inserted now. They have a lever, lift and pull inside the outlet. See the above link.
