When ever I look up what size oil filter to use on my 99IS, all I get is a picture of the filter and the price.
Does anyone know what part number I need for a K&N oil filt for my 99 IS?
Also, is using  10w 40 mobile 1 from Walmart OK?

Scroll down to generic oil filters in this link.  This link may have some shelf life with Mfgrs changing things around over the years (even Honda changed the Valk filter to a bit smaller a few years back), but it should help you out.  Print and take to store.

I think the Purolater Pure One may still be the best quality filter available, but it is a bit longer than current OE filter.

On the Mobil 1, you just do not want friction modifiers or extended life oil (or you get clutch slippage).  There are two and three digit codes for that stuff, but I never learned them.

instead of the K&N  KN-303, may I suggest going the route of hi-flo being HF-303.

I compared the two and swear they are made by same exact company apples to apples and the hi-flo is 1/2 the cost at around 6-7 bucks tops each.

Find a cycle dealer who can get them and you will have more gas money in your pocket  just wasting in my opinion spending more for the K&N name on oil filters.

Several dealers around me can readily get and recommend hi-flo oil filters same black color as K&N without the fancy nut in front.

Been using hi-flo for years no issues on my 2001 valk i/s
