Great pics.  Did you take them?  If so, you're one heckuva better amateur photographer than me.

What kind of equipment was used, beautiful pics! cooldude

Yes... very beautiful.  I remember one year that I had to work in Lansing in January... brrrr.

But I had a couple of days and I drove to the UP to go skiing... just for fun... and OK, it wasn't Colorado but it was fun.

But the most incredible sight was the lake... very strong winds blowing onshore... absolutely massive ice floes and packs jumbled along the shore... and absolutely massive breakers crashing into the shore... with ice floes and chunks carried to the shore like so many toothpicks... absolutely mezmerizing... and fantastic for the power I witnessed... and almost sinister with the ice, the green/blue/black water that looked sooo cold... outlined against a grey winter sky... a sight I will never forget.

I'd like to visit again.

Holy Cow! Great Pics! Are these professional? Did you take these? What a variety of lanscape in one state.
I guess that's along the same lines as folks from New Jersey saying "Everything in New Jersey is not Newark"?

For all you warm weather brethren,
as beautiful as those ice pictures are, it "should" be gone by summertime!

Slyk Willy forgot some pictures of the jewels of Michigans lower penninsula: sunrise over Bay City, the desolute skyline of Fint, the area of the old Silverdome in Pontiac, the wonders of Hamtramack, and Zug Island in the moonlight!

I was born in Detroit 52 yrs ago, we left for the south when I was only 3 months old. I have never been back, so I hope to make it to Inzane and check out my roots. I still have some relatives that live there, and it would be nice to look them up. Those pictures do make it look absolutely beautiful!  cooldude

I'll admit... When I first figured out Inzane was gonna be in Michigan, I thought it was a joke... I fell for the stereotype, I hear Michigan, and I think of the ruins of Detroit and all the silliness going on in Dearbornistan...

It's nice to be reminded that a state is not wholly the worse place in it, all of 'em have nice parts too...

Thanks for the education! Still a long way out, but it'd be nice to make my first Inzane the 10th... (I ALMOST made the 1st... *sigh* Freaking realities of work, life and family getting in the way ya' know...)

As much as I'd like to, I can't take credit for the Picts. I have however seen first-hand the beautiful places depicted here and yup, it's ALL THAT and more.

Nice pics!
As a 3 time visitor to MI, only making it to the Detroit/Dearbornistan area I can heartily say WOW!.... & BRRRRR! Some of those pics just made me shiver.
Wife #1 was from Michigan {Wyandotte} so I had to make 2 trips up there in my 20's & I had a business trip to the Glass House {Ford Motor Co.} a few years back. I was there in July/August with the ex and late May on the Ford trip so I missed {thankfully} the cold white stuff. I understand what you mean about folks perception of a state, I'm sure there are lots of people who think Florida is all beaches & palm trees. While we have more coastline than any other state {except Alaska} & abundant palm trees that certainly isn't all we have!
Thanks for showing us "another side"!  cooldude
