I'm pretty sure it's not serious, the guy is a VRCC member and lives in Florida. His offer: "I'll give you $1,000 for that butchered up hack job."

My thinking is....OK fine, but only if you add up the cost of parts on top of that $1k offer. I didn't answer him with that, but if he should offer that as well I'll take it. In that case it would be closer to the $3200 I listed it for on Craigs List. I figure at that price it gives me plenty of room to dicker.

I never did keep a tally on the parts or kits I used, guess I could go back and look them up, really wouldn't be all that hard to do. Just figure everything is either new or rebuilt except the motor, that was $500 by itself.

there are a lot of low life re-sellers on craiglist.   right now it seams Facebook is the place to sell to legitimate people. I've brought and sold a few times. Good Luck!

It doesn't feel like market is even luke warm for older bikes like these and others, I would be hung out to dry if I tried to sell the Drifter after all the work/money that went into it. I take it you will not start another project until it sells?

Jerry, doubt I'll start another one at all unless I find a deal on an abused Valkyrie. This was a rather large project from the beginning, don't want another one like it. There is one not far away for well under $2k with relatively low mileage, but needs a new stator which involves pulling the engine. I'd probably pull the trunk and run it like an F6B, bagger style. He's already put a fair amount of work into it per the ad. Just don't know if I have the interest or energy for another major project. I'd let this one go for a decent price in the mid $2k range, might have to edit my ad but wanted some wiggle room to drop from the asking price. Guess we'll see over the next few weeks.

John, just put that comment behind you and move on, don't know if he was joking but not cool.
One can offer whatever one think it is a fair price but no need for comments like that.
Now if he knows you and you guys are used to that type of joking then all is good
Hope you get a buyer soon  cooldude

That offer had to be a joke, but if not then he must think his Valk or whatever he has is only worth $2000 obo. I have shown your pictures of the bike to others and they were very impressed. It's a one of a kind and a lot of thought and time went into it. Maybe he wanted to low ball you and turn around and ask $3,500 Angry if he makes you another offer tell him the price went up to $4,000 take it or leave it,he can't appreciate the custom work because he has probably never done any uglystupid2

I answered him by asking if he still lived in the Palm Bay area, letting him know I knew who he was. I said nothing else and he hasn't responded since and it was a few days back. I have no intention/interest of chasing it down as a possible lead. I'm thinking seriously of expanding the CL posting to other areas in state.
