I bought a pair of used Saddlebags, and bought all the hardware. The Parts Microfiche does not clearly show how the internals go together.

Can someone please give info, or snap a picture to help see where everything goes for a Tourer setup?

FYI - I have 90% of the bags assembled. Just not sure how the wire is attached and as well as anything else that is going on inside the bags themselves.

Thank you in advance,

I cannot do pictures, sorry.  And I've never been able to find nice detailed pics of interstate cables on online either.

Tourer saddlebags had hinges in front. (And seams down the back, unlike interstate bags)

If you are messing with cable ties, those are for interstate, because hinged lids would come up under the interstate trunk, and only open a few inches.

It's not like the interstate cables can't be used on a Tourer, they can.

The cable & clips setup of the interstate lids is a real Rube Goldberg lashup (two cables per lid).  They work pretty good, but trying to follow the OE Honda microfish diagram will give you a headache.

Even though you may have all the bitty parts and cables for the interstate lid lashup, you may want to buy the hinges anyway, for ease of installation (assuming you have a tourer or standard). They are interchangeable with the interstate clips at the front of the bags.

What's not interchangeable is interstate lid cable ties and 87-88 tourer bag lids because those lids do not have the bosses (threaded holes) on the inside of the lids to mount the intestate cable ties to.  Tourer lids from '99 on used the (then new) interstate lids.

I prefer the Interstate bags even on my Standard.

I believe this is the picture you're seeking.  The cables on the bag end are under the nearest screw.  Remember that the lids drop to the outside.

(You'll need to click on the pic to see it well.)

I am talking about Tourer bags. The cables I'm referring to stop the lid from from flipping all the way forward.

You are correct. I got it the first time , even at my age. What was the question.  In the lid of the bag is a mold for a screw. It is about a third of the way from the hinge. On the side of the bag that mounts to the frame is a screw hole for the other end. Do not over tighten the screws. If you still have problems , I can text you a close up picture of mine.  I also would have liked Interstate bags on my tourer. The tourer bags tend to rub aftermarket seats when opened.
