Hi guys, my son Jeff and I are planning to do a Death Valley ride in February. We would arrive on Friday the 16 and leave on Monday the 19th. The 19th is Presidents day and my son gets a 4 day weekend. I have already booked a room at Motel 6 in Beatty. It would be great if you could join us. My son and I will be riding our KLR 650 dual sports. We plan on taking the truck to Beatty with the bikes in back. The plan is to tour the paved roads on Saturday and the Dirt roads on Sunday. I thought I would post this on the VRCC board to see if anyone would like to join us on either day or both. Let me know and I would suggest that you book your room early as it is a holiday weekend. You can always cancel if it doesn't work out for you.
Dave

I am signed up. It will be great to be ridding with old friends again. I'll stick to the paved roads though and hope for good weather. .....now where did I put that electric vest? John G.

I would love to join you Dave, but I'm scheduling another hip replacement for January and mid-February would be too soon to get back in the saddle. Have fun and be safe.

I've got to start paying better attention when I read. I completely missed that it was in Feb. I just assumed he was talking about a couple weeks from now. Good luck on your hip surgery George. Just how many hips do you have ?

Boy George, you need to get your priorities straight. Riding always comes before hip replacements. LOL Anyway I know everything will go great for you and you'll be riding soon.

Besides, I've lost my passion for chrome and am replacing it with titanium. Thanks for the good thoughts.

If I'm to have any chance on keeping riding as a priority, then I have to get the hip replaced. As you well know, the pain detracts from the ride and makes those 600 mile days seem onerous.

I'd love to join you, but that will be a week after the new knee. I don't think I'll be doing much other than physical therapy. Have fun!

Dang, I need to invest in titanium futures. Best wishes Sam, George. My youngest brother recently moved to the Bay Area. Brenda and I are going to ride up and visit him the prior week. You guys have a good ride.

Rob, the operation was on Friday at 1:45 and they had me up walking by late afternoon. I'm now up to a mile a day and almost no pain. I can't thank my Dr enough for the great job that he did.

I had planned on losing a little weight before the operation. What I didn't count on was Mother Nature giving me the flu bug and dropping 10 lbs in a week. A little drastic, but certainly appreciated.
