I need to replace my Tourer windshield and prefer polycarbonate and with either pc or acrylic, can someone tell me what my choices are in a scratch resistant coated material?
Thanks!

http://rifle.com/Classic-L-Windshield-for-Valkyrie-P2130.aspx  I have this larger size, much more aero and better coverage compared to OEM which I used to have. mounting brackets are about 5 lbs lighter also.

Thanks!  I'm really trying/wanting to keep my original hardware, looks like they don't offer a Tourer replacement.

Here's a choice to keep your original hardware, but they are acrylic. ... https://www.clearviewshields.com/shop/honda/

national cycle switchblade 2-up.

I got a near perfect new but used only had 2-3 scratches in it  2-3 inches long in a few areas for 60 bucks somewhat local on craigslist.  I had to buy the mounts though Q103 for 100 bucks new online though.  Their vtx1800 and valkyrie are near identical windshields and same exact Q103 mounting quick release hardware so if you can find one for a vtx1800 since more readily out there vs. a valkyrie go for it.

They make GW shields. Maybe they could do a custom one for you if you gave them a pattern.

I put Clearview replacements on both of my daily riders.  Yep, acrylic but they are compatible with OEM hardware, are thick and the plastic is buffable to return it to original condition. You can also order it with a vent installed. Useful to reduce the vacuum behind the shield which can cause head buffeting.

Thanks to all for the info.  Looks like Clearview is the only one offering a replacement of any kind allowing me to use my original hardware and even they don't make a full screen that wraps under the headlight like the OEM. Sad  I did contact a plastics supplier and can buy flat 3/16" coated polycarbonate sheet for around $300.00 cut to 3 pcs about 32 x 48 but then, I've got $100.00 in it before fabrication.  Polycarbonate requires drying oven for maybe 6-8 hours before heating and forming, unlike acrylic.  So it's more complicated, time consuming and expensive.  I guess I will just have to put up with scratches!

I had a brand new OEM windshield. In a box. I have a Clearview on my bike. They're so much
better, it really isn't a comparison. The amount better a Clearview is than a cloudy scratched up
OEM is unmeasurable.

While I've seen videos of people shooting 2 X 4s through Polycarb and Lucite/acrylic (plastic) windshields (with some sort of powerful machine), and the lucite breaks in shards and the polycarb doesn't (so the polycarb is supposed to be safer), I've never seen a video or post showing someone actually getting their lucite shield shattered into shards in a motorcycle accident (and/or getting impaled on said shards).  In all the rider-down accident stories that have been posted on this forum over the years, I cannot remember ever reading about a lucite shield shattering and injuring the rider (more than the rest of the fall).  Polycarb is also better against gunshots than lucite, but that doesn't come up much either.

Both my OE polycarb '99 interstate shields had seen better days, and were delaminating, foggy/fuzzy in spots, and could be downright dangerous to ride into oncoming headlights or a rising sun. An outfit called F4 Customs makes real nice polycarb replacement shields for interstate (but apparently not for tourers). But they offer three sizes and not anything you want dimension-wise, like Clearview does. https://f4customs.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_13

So I ordered two new custom interstate shields from Clearview (to my specific requirements, measurements) and put them on last year (well, Big BF did) and they are wonderful windshields. Clear as a bell, and can be polished of scratches if necessary (so far, not necessary).  They are something like 5mm thick vs the OE polycarb being like 3mm thick, but they mount right up with no problem, and they do not shake or wiggle around in high winds like the polycarb ones did.

And you really don't need the narrow strip of shield surrounding/under the tourer headlight (which actually makes taking it off and putting it back a little tricky).

So I'm voting for Clearview (if you can't tell from my post).  And BTW, Clearview gives the best customer service of any aftermarket bike parts seller I've ever dealt with.

I have a '98 Tourer and installed the 19", stock width, no vent about 3 years ago.

First, the Clearview is much thicker (it's a full 3/16" thick) than stock and being 2" shorter it is much more sturdy at highway speeds. Their name says it all,Clearview.

I installed another of their shield 2 summers ago on a '95 Wing I picked up, this one was also shorter but with a vent and the vent is awesome.

Now as for polycarbonate vs their acrylic blend shield, both are a plastic and both will scratch. I've worked with both for many years. The only difference is polycarbonate has a higher impact resistance. The main issue is UV. The sun beats the crap outta the stuff. Some products can be UV treated to resist fading/yellowing and crazing, but Clearview shield are IMO a great product for the price and figment to OEM hardware.

Smiley  Well, I finally ordered a Clearview.  21", 1" wider.  Craig at Clearview feels positive it will fit my Tourer hardware although I measured a little different.  The OEM PC shield has gotten DANGEROUS like Jess had said.  Now, I need to replace fork seals and install my belly tank (or pay someone to do it???)
