Robert, you recommend the Michelin Road 4 Trail  120/70r19 for the front. Our manual calls for a wider tire- (130). Is it ok to use a narrower tire? I have used wider tires in the past but not narrower. Is there much difference going from a 130 to a 120?

No problem at all for mine and quite a few others. What you may notice is a little quicker steering response but that is about it. Keep the pressure to 39 to 41 and you wont have a problem with cupping and its pretty critical that you keep it in that range. You can go lower but it may cup.

When I picked these tires there wasn't to much selection and nothing in our size. But now there are a few in our size and you could check those out also. I am going to stay with the Micheline since I have had no problems and like the tires and trust the name. If someone says they have a great tire I may try it but really I have a set always waiting in the wing and with 24k miles on the bike with these tires I really dont see the need to change. Wet they are great, dry great just a nice tire all the way around.

Just as kind of a side note, and one thing I always also liked about these tires is they were made for a bit of off road. I have upon occasion come across a dirt road and always felt a bit more confident knowing I had a tire that was made for that kind of thing.

Was there any significant difference in overall diameter on the front or the rear?

This should give the exact information for the front. The rear is oem size so the difference should be minimal.
