Lately the sound difference between my standard and tourer is bugging me - the tourer has 19” slash extended tips and the drone buggs me, i thought i read of people extending thier piggies- if so is it a tapered or flared pipe that is installed or simply the added pipes are ID size of OD of existing stock? Am I making sense?

If memory serves this is what you want.

Sheffjs:

A set of these will slip right in and cure your noise problem. Run them just a couple of inches back from the tips.

I added the copper pipe extensions some time ago.  They don't make much difference when you are idling, but when cruising, they are significantly quieter.  The only thing I hear now is transmission and tires.

I forgot to mention, I added the extensions to stock pipes, sticking them out 1/2" past the exhaust tips.

I'm glad you said that. The stock length piggy extension mod is complete and my first ride will be this Saturday. I surely hope you are right.  I ran the two valks side by side, and I felt the 100% stock bike was much quieter at idle, and was surprised to the point I felt something else was drilled out.

Glad you got it done Jerry.  But what's up with no pictures.  Lol. I bet it looks cool.  You would have noticed if the muffler was drilled I think.
