Anybody have this or used it and is it worth the money? I'm thinking about cleaning my carbs and then setting everything back up. I believe the carbs as is are not functioning 100% which is why I thought I would clean them. I want to make sure they are properly synced when  I'm done though.

I have one, and it makes a tedious job, using two vacuum gauges per the manual, into a simple one. It takes longer to set up and disconnect the DigiSync than it does to make the adjustments to the throttles. It is also useful when adjusting the pilot jets, as it gives a very good reading of rpm. Granted, you don't often need the adjustments, but the tool is so accurate that, once adjusted, I can place a shot glass of whiskey on the fuel tank, rev the engine, and there is barely a ripple.

Also, he who has the most tools, wins! 2funny

Slight or noticeable difference after my Brother-da prez-digisynced my carbs. And where as before I was in the high 20s low 30s for M P G now-with out changing my riding style-I am consistently in the mid to high 30s on the M P G side. And when I twist the wick at about 80 M P H you can feel the response-NOT that I didn't feel it before-But now I'm guessin it feels like Mama Honda meant for our Valkyries to feel!  cooldude And THAT ain't a bad thing!   coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

If you are going through the carbs and then reassembling, I'd highly recommend using the digisync afterwards to get it dialed right in.  cooldude

does it work with the oem petcock? since the petcock works off #6 vacuum, how do you plug #6 to digi sync and petcock at same time?

Best way we have found is to put another vacuum source on the petcock, a vacuum pump or mighty vac, it does not take much to open the petcock,  then use all six carb nipples for the sinc.

It's been my experience that the DigiSync works so well that the adjustments can easily be made before she starts to run out of gas. Even if it did, you could put it back on long enough to fill the bowls again.

I'll try the mighty vac. or maybe a T fitting to run both petcock and Digi sync. thanks

Just do as the manual states for sync.  Start the engine, clamp the hose between #6 and the petcock, then remove the hose from #6.  Holds the vacuum, keeping the OEM petcock open and fuel flowing.

Surgical clamps work great.

You can't find a better or easier way to sync the carbs than with DigiSync.

The DigiSync probably won't work properly with a T fitting.

+1 on all the good things said about the Digisync.  Also, it's a very accurate tach.  Useful if you are trying to set the pilot screws per the service manual procedure.

Surgical clamps ? Bill, you don't have a bunch of roach clips laying around do you ?  2funny I switched my vacuum line over to one from Red Eye a while back. It has a firm plastic line inside the outer rubber line. I don't know if it would permanently damage the inner line if "roach clips" we're used on it.

Ha, yeah, I gave up that vice in the late 70's.

Figured, I'm stupid enough without making myself stupider.

And besides, they were surgical clamps before they were roach clips.

I bought several sets at a gun show one year.  The sales guy wouldn't believe I wanted them for meching on my bike.  Not that I gave a rodent 's anus what he thought Smiley

Meathead what's the weather like in Lake Havasu today. I used to live there back in '76 on Pale Verde Blvd. I suspect the place has changed a lot since then. Actually wish I was there as it was -30 up here on Monday. Oh and my Digi Sync is on its way.

A nice set of vacuum plugs came with the DigiSync when I bought mine.  He also sells them separate for 6-8 bucks/set--something like that.  With regard to the vacuum on the pet rooster--I use a small piece of tubing connected to it and suck on it a little then clamp.  As stated above, doesn't take much pressure.  Once it's clamped it will allow engine to run for as long as needed, which aint much.

I tried to get over there two years ago when I rode the bike down to Vegas but didn't have enough time to scoot over. Used to hang out under the Bridge, back then there was always something going on down there.

I've maxed out on how stupid I can afford to get.  Burned out on weed in the 70's during the nam now I don't have any brain cells to spare - need all that I got left.  Experience talkin here - yeah it will make you stupid if you do enough of it.  I quit decades ago.  Though it's been legal here for a while I still don't do it and have never been in a ganga store.

On the subject of cold - I hold the local record on hot tubbing in the cold.  -22°ƒ.  Not bad here lately.  Running highs in the 50's out to the end of the forecast.  Now I need to come up with errands as an excuse to ride.

Yeah I have a digi-sync.  Got it when BonS threatened to retire.  Once sync'd the bikes rarely need it.  But great to have when they do.

I have had one for years. I think I bought one of the first he made and it is great. Don't use it much, but it works and worth the money. Best way to go is to find someone that lives near you and has one already and use theirs. That is what my Valkyrie owner friends do. They come and use mine.

I bought one a while back and used it twice on my 98 CT. Worked great. Didn't think much of how easy it makes life. Purchased a 99 CF from an abused home and the digisync made her feel much better in a short period of time.

I have one and do carb syncs for free to meet other folks.

I recently synced my carbs at idle and they were perfect then I thought why not just below 3k RPM's.

Well when I got all the carbs perfect at 3k rpms probably about 1/8 throttle I was off at idle a few points. What I realized is that now I've gain 2 mpg and the bike is unbelievably smooth now. My hwy pegs allow me to lean my feet/ankles against the valve covers. I'm still shaking my head at how smooth this bike is. You can't hardly feel it running anymore.

Many will see it doesn't matter to each his own. The digisync is the way to go. I just recently purchased another one and talked to Bon personally. He enjoys making the digisync and is continuing to make them.

How do you sync them at 3K?  Are you adjusting the same screws that you adjust at idle?  I'm intrigued.  Do tell.

It’s a well engineered bit of kit.

I bought a 6-channel version a few weeks ago.  The biggest pain was installing the clamps on the new caps located on the back side of the intake nipples.  I have a spare set of intakes that I’m going to modify...for future tuning.

This is a precision tool that is rarely needed, but nice to have.  The tachometer is a big benefit and the 6-channel model makes it nice to only have to hook the hoses up once without burning my fingers!

I sold my 4-channel Morgan CarbTune II for slightly less than I paid for it almost 10 years ago (which I only needed to use it once).
