Well, I finally replaced my original windshield on my 99 CT with a Clear View Windshield...Got it all back together but am a little amiss about the upper bolts, collar, and the rubber washer on each top right and left upper brackets...should the bolt, collar, and rubber, be on the outside of the windshield bracket and the bracket be flush with the upper brackets....or should the collar rubber, be between the windshield bracket and the upper bracket...I don't think it would make too much of a difference but would like to know the proper way to install that small collar rubber...!!! Also had a small water leak from the upper hose on top of the thermostat housing...the cold weather down here seemed to cause the problem...so I was ready to pull the radiator top bolt out and try my luck with a long 1/4" drive with a 6mm sock...well, I don't know if the factory or the PO did this, but the hose clamp was lined up directly towards the right side of my bike...all I had to do was to us about a 12" extension with a 6mm socket and go just behind the original horn bracket...It fit perfect...I tightened up the clamp and stopped the oozing of antifreeze...I was tickled that it was facing the exact way so I could get at it...Made my day...!!! Thanks for any advise you can give me...Geoff "Sandman" Sandala

Videos are even better. A 5-minute clip would record every bolt on the bike. I don't have an Iphone, smart phone. Anybody know the best rubber washer to replace item 19 below? Mine's not Oem and seems every few years, it falls apart and has to be replaced.

They're about $2.50 or so Oem, but don't know whether they last that long. I take the windshield off when I wash the bike, but leave that top bolt on along with the washer and maybe getting the washer wet with suds is deteriorating it. The attachment for the top bolt is slotted for safety.

Well, my Tourer is 20 years old so I bet they are original, and still in good shape. I only take the windshield off for maintenance though, and I don't know what the PO did. Also I don't 'wash' the bike.

Mine's not Oem and seems every few years, it falls apart and has to be replaced. I went to Home Depot and picked up a small box of faucet washers. They work great and are durable. Just about 10 years on the same two and have plenty on hand. Roadog
