I had heard about him from the board and while in Billings, ran into someone who knew him. He said nothing but nice things about Bob and the fine work he does. After getting home, I contacted him and got the full scoop on what he does to your bike. I made a commitment as did a friend near me and we took our bikes down to him. He kept me informed of everything he did as well as pics of the work he was doing. The problem with my bike and everyone else's that were bought used is you have no idea what was done to it before you got it as was the case with mine. Some of the hoses were routed and hooked up incorrectly as were a couple of issues with the carbs. It also had a 6 degree trigger wheel which wasn't needed or wanted. Also the front forks were leaking and he repaired those and found out that someone had put some strange oil in them and they were very low. He finished my bike just before we were leaving for Arizona and so made a side trip to Tulsa to ride it. It was 35 degrees when he met me at the storage facility. We fired up the bike and off I went. The difference between before and after was as different as night and day. It was smooth running before but even smoother now. The difference in power and acceleration, well there just is no comparision. It is just a totally different motorcycle than before his work. The smile on my face at 35 degrees said it all. He does the work out of the garage at his house and the garage is all set up and immaculate. Everything is neat and put away, No tools or parts laying around and you can eat off the floor. This is the best money I have ever spent on the bike and I would highly recommend his work to everyone. And by the way, he is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable people you will run into.

Brad, I could not agree with you more, Bob di my bike this pass May, I pick it up and rode a little over 650 miles to Indian to meet up with some friends, then down to Georgia, I'm working down there, then is September I rode to Washington state to take the bike home, on that trip I found out how good she ran, I was having trouble keeping her under 100 mph she was so smooth also I had to really pay attention to what gear I was in because I found myself in 4th because of how smooth she runs now, and the best part is my gas mileage went up, at 75 mph getting around 35 to 36 mpg and at 85 to 90 mph getting around 32 mpg. Yes it is the best money I have ever spent on my baby

My 97 has been tuned up. It's sitting in Bob's storage unit waiting to fly. I have to wait another 60+ days to ride in the wind again.
Thanks Bob! I can hardly wait. (But I must)

Does he do general maintenance? Not oil change level stuff but like timing belt changes or leaking transmission seal. My impression from his ads was that he only does performance upgrades.

He is built for performance upgrade, but contact him and see what he has time for. Michael I know right now he is booked up to June then he will be at Inzane for a few days.

He did my bike in November and as others here stated top notch work When I dropped my bike off with Bob it was the third time I had been to his place ..first one was summer before last when I was on a road trip and had a wheel bearing go out and I contacted him and was at his house in a couple hrs and we repaired the bike that evening so I could continue my trip...the second time I was just passing close by so I called him to have dinner...great guy and great work....and yes I think he will do most any repair you want to pay for And I am Proud to know him and call him a Friend

Bob saved my 2015 Spearfish trip. Made the drive to Tulsa and he had purchased the rear wheel bearings the day before and put them in the freezer. I drove in-cage-the next day and he r & rd the wheel bearings. Paid my bill and took him to lunch at a cursed good Mexican restaurant. This all transpired the weekend before I took off fer Spearfish. Good wrench good guy good friend. RIDE SAFE.

The work he does qualifies any bike he does as a Super Valk. Not some Interstate that you can remove the trunk from which Harley has been able to do for years.

I agree with that! I'm picking up a bike from Bob in April and so far I've had a great experience. Bob has shown me pictures of every step of the way. I'm really looking forward to meeting him in real life in April and picking up the bike. I'll probably post all the pictures to the forum after I pick up my bike but so far my experience with Bob Smith (Attic Rat) has been great!!!

Bob did his performance upgrade work on my 01 Standard last year and, like Safety Steve said, it’s been the best money ever spent on my Valkyrie. Ross aka “Da Prez” does a great job with all my routine maintenance needs, but I wanted to take the next step. Made arrangements with Bob and drove from Chicagoland to drop it off on Feb 24th and picked it back up on April 7th. I was Bob’s “April” but he was working hard to get caught up to go to the Roanoke Inzane. Bob works to perfection and the results are impressive. The performance improvement is apparent at any speed with slightly better mpg to boot. Bob opens the air box up and she screams when you open the throttle. I’m pushing 67 years old and smile like a kid at Christmas every time I ride. Just can’t wait for this Yankee wasteland to thaw out.

Sounds like Bob needs to set up a satellite shop in the NW I've heard so many positive comments about it, even at the current 30% or so exchange rate deficit for me I would gladly pay the $$ to have the performance mod done if he wasn't quite so out of the way for me. After almost 18 years I've got nothing left to add to my Interstate...except his performance mod I'm thinkin'.

I’ve never bought a bike from someone I hadn’t met before a thousand miles away from where I live. This in itself is a very nerve-racking endeavor but Bob totally put me at ease. All of the glowing reviews are true and I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing them first hand.
He sent me pictures of the bike in all stages of his work on it and he was honestly the nicest most caring person I’ve ever dealt with. Once I landed in Tulsa to pickup the bike I was only smiles. The bike looked new and was absolutely stunning I couldn’t believe it. The work he has done is absolutely top notch. He even had a little surprise for me as he had added an extra spoiler to the interstate top case which totally fixes the lines and makes it look very modern.
I asked him to do the performance work he is so well known for and wow it makes the bike fly. Two up I still kept seeing my friend on his brand new Harley as a tiny dot in my mirror.
Bob and Debbie where also nice enough to show us around Tulsa in their car on the rainy evening before I picked up the bike and they gave us many tips on what to do on our thousand mile trip back to NYC.
I could’nt be more happy.

Mike, Oh my!, I couldn't imagine how that beautiful BC Red and White Interstate with that Ernie Shuster exhaust would perform with an Attic Rat upgrade. If I were you I would call Bob today and set an appointment, but since I'm not you, and already have my Valkyrie "Ratified" all I can do is have fun with my good friend from up north. And dont worry the "bill" isn't too bad....lol Michael 97 Fast Black
