Tucson - Its a dry heat

« on: February 21, 2018, 07:46:55 PM »

Found a thread on "The Perfect Ride" handguards.
Other than looking ...shall I say... less than svelte...it appears they would function well.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php?topic=98030.0

Anybody else found, or used something else a little smaller that looks a little more apropos?

Been in the low 20's around here, and have a 1000 mile trip coming up in a week or so. Would like to find something to assist the heated gear.

1000 miles?  Lol, damn the looks!  You can subtract the guards afterwards.  After all, hard to be sexually impressive with ice clubs for fists!

Mitch,

Long story, but I was asked to look at the fasteners part of those hand guards relative to use on the Valkyrie.  As Jambriwal noted in his write up, he had to cobble things together but got them to work.  With your skills they are an option.

I just built a fairing instead.  Wink

Ride safe!

IMHO, the perfectride handguards are ugly and expensive !  Evil

I bought heated grips but I never fixed it, so I had to use my old covers :

I understand you may say it's ugly but it is not expensive  2funny and really efficient (cold, rain, snow, thieves  2funny)

As it is impossible to fix these covers at the end of the bars as we all know, I had to tinker with something in order to keep the covers away from the levers. I won't show any pic because Bill 's watching !   Grin  Wink

I was in London this pasted April and seen these kind of hand guards, they really don't sell or ride very many bikes over 500cc there, I visited a few MC dealerships and was told this, they sell them but their big sellers are scooters and they have these same type of weather hand guards, looks good and I'm sure they keep ones hands warm to...
