I put a deposit down on a Red Goldwing Tour DCT with Western Honda.  They expect arrivial about March 28.  They had already ordered it.  I am nervous about riding home with the DCT.  I am sure Ill like once I get used to it. I thought I would put this up on the Az board.  The rest of the news is on the California board.  Now, again, can I still wear my Valkyrie shirts. when riding the Wing.  I am keeping the Valk for now.

NO  Wink you must wear a Goldwing shirt when riding a Goldwing so the general public and politicians will not be confused.

Ron, I had a salesman named JES.  They weren't doing much dealing.  They knew if I didn't buy the bike the next guy would.  They knocked $500 off and then added $450 for dealer prep, so I essentially paid MSRP for the bike.  Politicians were born confused.  I dont think wearing a Goldwing shirt will fix that, but I'll start looking for one.

John, what I’ve read about the DCT are mostly getting used to slow speed maneuvers. Most of the guys are recommending not using “sport mode” for the slow parking lot stuff.  cooldude
Also they recommend switching to manual shifting.

Thanks for the information. Wow I'm a little disappointed with those numbers. I guess their going to try to capsulize on a low inventory market. They were very competitive with HOR on my 2017 at the time I bought it. I will need to stop recommending them if that is all the discount they gave you.

Listen my Goldwing loves my Valkyrie shirts. I think my bike is faster and preforms better when wearing a Valkyrie shirt, because I think she thinks if she doesn't preform I will go back to a Valkyrie. Don't worry about the Goldwing shirts they are not as cool as some of my Valkyrie shirts.

Ron, I don’t think it’s just them. I got the feeling from the dealers in Vegas that they are selling pretty well and didn’t need to come down at all. It was almost exactly the same with Brenda’s Miata a while back. When the newness wears off they will probably come down a little. They must be making pretty good money on them though. I can’t imagine HOR would be making less than a grand on them. If their cost is in the 23k range, $7,300 seems like a big profit margin.

Tom
That is about $1700 less than when I bought a year ago. HOR discounts were not that much a year ago.
Looks like a good price on a 2017.

The reason someone recommends a dealer is they got a good deal and/or good service. I have gotten both from Western. I'm disappointed with this information from them, but I do understand supply and demand. I knew they were not going to be competitive with HOR on price, but once you figure in airfare, travel cost and days spent going to get the bike I thought they would have been closer.

I was thinking more along the lines of $129 on Spirit Air and 90 minutes.  Smiley

So my Goldwing will be faster if I am wearing a Valkyrie shirt,  while eating a donut, on my way to the restaurant.  I am not confused at all, but then I'm not a politician.  Thank you for all the congratulations.  Now I can start spending another three grand on accessories.  I can't take it with me so I might as well enjoy it.   ONLY 25 more very long days untill I get my RedWing.

That will work also...  I did that when I picked up my Outback in Colorado Springs..  That flight was $36 and they picked me up at the airport...

My mistake, that should have read: Dairy Queen not Dunkin.

Guess this means I'm not ready for a Gold Wing yet.  Undecided

Dairy Queen ranks right up there with donuts, but I think the ice cream will melt faster.  Only 18 more long, painful days.  I spent yesterday polishing the Valkyrie.  That helped, and she felt better afterwards.  I don't want the old phat girl getting jealous of the younger model.  I was even thinking putting the maiden head from the Valkyrie tank on the Goldwing.  I have a new set in a box somewhere in the garage.
