Far North Chicago Burbs'

« on: March 04, 2018, 12:22:20 PM »

Okay, damn the ice torpedos! Finished annual maitenance and had to go for a ride.  Cold as hell out, and I have a cold...whatever typical Winter sheet here in the north. Anyway bike is running perfect.  I have agree with Robert about the Iridium plugs.  Bike seems even smoother and snappy. Throttle response is perfect, crisp...and MAN is she hyper now!  Placebo effect? Perhaps, but I doubt it. I can feel a difference. Stopped for coffee and to thaw out!

I knew you would have to get out for a ride Grin It really sucks when everything is cold but it sure feels good to get out.

It was cold though! My fingers were freezing even with gloves on! Had on my leather, long johns, warm socks, helmet.. and with a sinus infection!  Still, man it was exciting, the pavement clean and sticky, and the cool air made for good power!  The new plugs and oil....bike was behaving spunky.. hyper like.   Luv that engine!

Went out to meet for breakfast last Sunday,  had the Valk out last fall so took the GL1000. I was the only one to ride, the other 4 all were in cars, far weather riders.  They wait till its like 70 to ride. If it was for a 100+ mile day ride I agree its more comfortable,  but if its like just a 20 mile first ride, I have no problem dressing for the cold. Filled up with fresh gas and enjoyed the cool wind and great feeling to be on a bike again.
