I sent an email to Progressive Suspension about the fork cartridge for the F6b and if it would be able to be fit on a Valkyrie:

Here is my email:

Hi there,

I have a 2014 Goldwing Valkyrie and I am looking for some fork cartridges.  Your site does not seem to have anything to fit my bike, but I was wondering what the difference is between my bike which is the GL1800C (Valkyrie) and the forks on the GL1800B (F6B)?  If there was a height difference, which forks are longer?  If my Valkyrie is higher, would I not be able to put a spacer at the bottom to make up the difference?  I could screw it in to the bottom of the cartridge and put the bolt into the spacer.  Perhaps you could make the spacer, so that these can be marketed to the Valkyrie rider.  If the Valkyrie forks are shorter, is a concern about bottoming out because the cartridge is already too compressed?
I do know that many on the Valkyrie forum are now looking to update their forks, since their bikes are starting to get miles on them.  We are starting to look for a solution to our handling issues.

Thanks you for your time,

Here is their response:

Hello,
I’m sorry we do not have anything for that motorcycle.

No explanation as to why it wouldn't fit, or maybe if something was in the works, just a we don't have anything blow-off.  Not really pleased with their customer service skills.  At least say that they cannot advise me if it could fit for legal purposes, or something.

It just looked like he saw the bike and knew they didn't have anything for it and didn't want to waste his time. Angry

Been there, done that, got the Tshirt.

I emailed Michelin Tires and asked if they had any plans in the future to expand their production of Commander IIs to include additional sizes, especially sizes to fit the Valkyrie (sizes included).  (I only wanted a front)

Their answer was..... we don't make Commander IIs to fit the Valkyrie.

Hello, is there an echo in here?

Who do you have answering questions, your 8 year old (or the janitor)?

In general, I've found asking questions via email gets you better answers than talking on the phone because; 1) the people who know how to type and use a computer are smarter than the people who answer the phone, and 2) when putting answers to questions in writing (that can be shared with the world), more care goes onto the answers than just talking on the phone (that once hung up, it never happened).

But this is not always the case.

You know the guy who answered you is probably required to answer every question in the Q by the close of business.  If you want some fun, just keep sending in the same questions.

In the courtroom, the answers we were given were UNRESPONSIVE TO THE QUESTION.

Oh I cant tell you all the times I was read to like a robot rather than a thoughtful response. Its super frustrating and in some instances I have asked does the supervisor have a brain and can answer without reading a script or do I need to go higher. Shock and awe sometimes works to jolt people out of complacency.

I notice that others do read, but alot of time don't reply,  unless they have something to add or a different comment to make. I read alot of posts but don't reply,  unless I have a similar experience,  or a difference of opinion. I enjoy reading the posts especially on rides and tech info, and wish it was easier to post pictures, just too many steps to add pictures.
