Saturday Dogg came and picked up my 98 Valk. My two wheeled riding days are over. I don't know what was harder, watching the Valk going up into the trailer or accepting the fact that I have to give up some of what has become part of my life for 40 years. The saving fact is that I have the trike. I hung on to the 2 wheeler as long as I could but this leg breaking for the fourth time set the decision. The ride to Colorado and running the trike down the Dragon, the trike and I meshed. There was a point up in passes that I started feeling as one with the trike, it became an extension of me just as most of the motorcycles have. My peg dragging days are over but at least I will be able to stay in the wind. At least I know the 98 will be fixed back up and riden instead of just sitting in the shed with carbs gumming up from not being ridden. I know Dogg will do the bike justice and get a lot good riding in on it. The Valk went to a good home. I was sitting on stool with the cast on my leg and leaning on the crutches when Dogg was rolling it in the trailer and my wife walked up and asked if I was going to be ok. I told her it's all good and I knew an era of my riding career had eneded when the door closed.
Got the hard cast off today, now 5 more weeks in a walking boot. Time to fix some dings in the paint on the trike, polish the front rim, put the chrome rims on the back , and get her ready to ride to Inzane X.
Pic is when I had it about where I wanted it and before I got a hold of an Interstate Tank.
