There's always the fallback bullet hole decals.
But everyone knows there's a booboo under them.

They are interchangeable side to side but the top is the top If you change sides, the top on the left becomes the bottom on the right.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but the schematics (parts fishes) aren't exactly digital photography.

I haven't tried yet but like sandy said if you swap the left side for the right side the top be comes the bottom. Plus they have the same part number not marked left or right... If that fails..... rattle rattle rattle

I haven't tried yet but like sandy said if you swap the left side for the right side the top be comes the bottom As Jeff stated, that is not true. Look at the bottom of the covers installed on your bike, there is a 45* on the sides. Both sides have this 45* on the bottom. You can swap them from side to side but the bottom is the bottom, the top is the top.

All this left/right, top/bottom talk made me go out and lift the cover to look. This is the correct, and obvious when you actually look, answer. Wish it were warm enough to ride.

I have some bad strange corrosion "under the chrome" where the wells are for the bolts on my right side cover. They are all really bubbled, but none of the chrome is coming off. I was wondering if could be bead blasted smooth and then have them powdercoated gloss black?

Certainly, I had a set done for my bobber, they came out great. I did matte though.

That's one of those areas that should always be wiped extra dry using your finger nails etc. with dry cloth after washing the bike. Even on the tilted lower left side of the engine. The right side is a given. Otherwise it's a rust pocket.

My bud has a metal fab shop with a super awesome powder coating booth and blasting booth, but isn't convinced he can get all the corrosion off without there not being some damage left......it's pretty bad. I may just buy a cover off Fleabay, seen them pretty cheap. I am for sure going to powdercoat the covers black, will look sweet against the chrome and my yellow paint. Are the gaskets on the covers or the block, and can they be reused?

Are the gaskets on the covers or the block, and can they be reused? The gaskets are installed on the covers and usually can be reused. I bought an extra set back in 2001 and their still on the shelf.

I just did these for one of the project bikes. I have a set of those in the to-do stash; as soon as I prep the other I/S parts therein I'm taking the lot to the powdercoaters and having them done. Gloss, though.

Nice looking Headers! Just an FYI these bike are 1520 CC ! Size does matter! FYI to you. It is typical of Honda (and other manufacturers) for the technical specs i.e. actual cc's to differ slightly from badging or the model designation (name) I think Disco and the rest of us (apparently except you) already knows this

... Just an FYI these bike are 1520 CC ! Size does matter! Hey Kev, I'm pretty sure Honda knew that when they manufactured these or had them done. And, to Houdini's point, I believe my MT50 is actually 49cc, my F800 is actually 798cc, and my modded 550 started at 544cc (it is now 572cc).
