Greetings from California:)
Not braggin'... just wantin' to share a few things that made my ride (1998 GL1500CT) funner to and from the Black Hills of South Dakota...
1. Before leaving, I followed the detailed instructions from a former post modifying the "shift shaft support" on the cheap. EXCELLENT change in shifting...crisp and concise...not a single prob in 3k miles (approx.).
2. Also installed the 6 degree trigger wheel and ran Super gas...no probs and fun power.
3. Stayed hydrated alternating water with electrolyte beverages.
4. Under britches!...a pair of SAXX and a pair of LD's. Great comfort and "crowd control"

5. Ultimate Seat...dang good!
The stock handlebars (beach?) had me leaning back a bit too far. The sections of concrete highway and rhythmic pounding got old fast. I now changed to a pair of my old H.D. Electraglide bars that have me more upright...we'll see.
The motor (as you know) is freakin' amazing and this is with bone stock pipes!
Cheers,
Howler Jack
