I need to know which way to turn the headlight adjustment screws for the movement I want. After installing the Darksider LED kit it's hitting quite high so need to aim it down more. Anyboty?

I realize I can go out and turn screws to my heart's content, just don't like to use the "by guess and by golly" shotgun approach.

Hmmm, never thought of that, don't know if I still have it or not. Nuts, now I'm curious so it's out to the garage. Sad   Wink

So, I do have the owner's manual, the original one that came with the bike....has the VIN logged in it for one thing along with engine #. Looked through the manual twice and found nothing re. adjusting the headlight. Guess I'll poke around on the net.

Josh has an excellent You Tube video out there just for that. My crummy memory does not serve me these days like it use to.

sorry John, I thought that it was in there.

Ahh, checked my owners manuals today, the suzuki DR200 owners manual has the headlight adjustment in it, and not the valkyrie manual as I wrongly suggested.

I had the same question several years ago.  I do have an interstate so adjustments is different than standard/tourer..

I finally moved my Valk in my garage so that the light would shine on the back wall, turned off the lights, and started playing.  Its been several years ago so not real sure but seems that I turned the up-down adjustment to the right to get the light to rise.  It took a number of turns to get it where I wanted it.  would screw it, then set bike upright with me sitting on it to see the progress.  Like I said it took some time.

I believe putting in non OEM lights caused them to shine down more.

I got it done today, used my son-in-law's garage wall over 25' away. Found to lower the beam you turn the adjuster CCW. Brought it right in. I'll take a ride later when dark to see if I get any oncoming headlight flashes, if not I may raise it a tad.

It's a little late to say this, but it may help in the future.   I buy digital manuals for my bikes and cars, then put them on my phone so I always have them.   They are a bit hard ro read and maneuver on the small screen, but they are better than nothing.
