Thanks Scooper. They were really slow coming out with 2020.20. I was checking them semi-weekly as they were way overdue, the previous 2020.10 I downloaded on 02/28, while 2020.20 wasn't available until the weekend of Sept 28. Now the next one a month later? Inconsistent. I wasn't going to check again for months. Pretty sure updates for these portable models are low priority - high dollar avionic and nautical and factory installed cage units get the juice. But then, paraphrasing Shania, they don't impress me much. Especially after they EOL'd Mapsource, a good intuitive map manager albeit with memory leaks, and replaced it with that asinine Basecamp - USELESS. And their HORRIBLE user interface for EVERYTHING support, including this task of updating maps. How anybody uses it successfully who isn't a software engineer or a 13 yr old kid, I don't know. Not to mention they redefined what "lifetime" means on their "lifetime updates". They even named my unit, "Zumo 665LM, NA" which is defined as "Zumo 665Lifetime Maps, North America" Then buried on thier web page, that means "Lifetime" until they discontinue it, or you stop downloading regular updates. Then they are off the hook. I wonder how the courts would interpret that, on a class action lawsuit. Of course, whoever has the most money wins in the courts. Blind justice my eye. Their product guarantees aren't much better.
I've gone through like seven Garmin units, been a heavy user since before "Selective Availability" was turned off in May 2000.
Now the idiots have grown the update map to 3.34Gb. Almost as big as the total internal memory of the 665 ZUMO and bigger than the space left on my 16Gb SD card. I don't believe this unit supports a bigger card but I'll give it a smoke test.
WHAT A SHITTY SOFTWARE SHOP!!!! I can tell from external observation, that I am SO GLAD I was never an engineer there!
You can go to at least 32 GB, formatted as FAT32.
