Hi, got my valkyrie ready to go to Alaska next June. Do you need 1or2 modultor for head lights, and has anyone gone in June and how were the roads on m/c tires?

The modulator kits are rated for one or two headlights. I have one on my '05 Wing. I put them on my high beam bulbs.

From where you are starting, with fresh tires, you should be fine for a round trip. It would be a good idea to have a plug kit and pump though. Where all are you planning to go ? Are you going up the Cassiar Hwy ?

Leaving from Nanaimo through to Dawson Creek. Then to Watson Lake, Whitehorse, Skagway, Haines to Haines Junction on to Fairbanks. Make the loop from Fairbanks to Anchorage to Tok then over to Dawson City. Have new tires, rotors, brakes, brushes on alternator, new timing belts, stem bearings, and all tire repair stuff. Will be pulling a tiny mite tent trailer and I'm retired so know rush.

Going up the Alaska highway and on the way back the Cassiar Highway.

Sounds like a great trip ! May I suggest a couple things ? The "Top of the World Hiway" from Tetlin to Dawson City is a very cool road that runs along the tops and ridges of the hill country there. But, it is about 200 miles of gravel. Or at least it used to be, and I doubt it's been paved since. I think it would be kind of dicey on a Valkyrie pulling a trailer. Also, may I suggest since you are in no hurry for time to include the Kenai Peninsula south of Anchorage in your agenda. Neat, pretty country. Seward, Kenai, Homer, and all the places in between would be worth the extra miles and time in my opinion.
If you have any questions about places and things to do, feel free to PM me or ask here. I love to talk about my homeland.  cooldude

Since you asked one or two headlights, I take it you've an IS. I believe the rules are there must both be operating. They MUST be in unison, or you are impersonating an emergency vehicle.

Scroll down on the link to my Signal Dynamic. It works on either low or high beam, and can be turned off on the fly. I have a spare one for sale if you haven't purchased it yet. I thought someone local might have wanted it when I bought it, to cut down on the shipping cost. I've my email in my profile.

Notice there are zap straps holding the connectors together? I had a light failure on our ride to Spearfish back in 17', and found that the connector had unplugged.
