More of the same stuff. These three are all articles on Woodward's book. I won't engage you further on this subject. You are beyond logic. For one with such self proclaimed superior intellect, you sure don't seem willing to use it.

The President has repeatedly lied to the American people about many subjects. Yet, you still can't bring yourself to admit it. When the President acknowledges in private how serious and deadly the virus is, but in public says the opposite, that is lying. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of examples of the President's untruthfulness. Yet, you can admit none. I can now understand why you would choose to align yourself with this.

Well we don't want to see this kinda crap here. COVID COPS Police to visit homes of self-isolating in coronavirus crackdown as £10,000 fines come into force for rule breakers https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12785254/police-visit-homes-self-isolate-coronavirus-fines-10000/I still say the virus has been a problem everywhere, not just here. Point fingers all you want, but I'd prefer not to see this Gestapo type enforcement here in America. I have said that I disapprove of mandates. I know we are a step away from that happening, and I will vote accordingly.

No no no, you presented an argument of there are hundreds if not thousands of lies out there, you can’t just present that and walk away. I’ll cut you some slack, present 50 with documentation and still no repeats. When, how and if I lie to my wife is not the topic. Not lying to a spouse is not in the marriage vows. Not lying to the people is not in the oath of office.

I can't ? Sure I can. How many times has evidence been shown and then disregarded here. (Plenty) that's some twisted logic about lying to your wife, or the President lying to the people. Because it's not in your vows or in the President's oath, it's ok ? (Our wives are much different evidently) And our views of the President's loyalty to the American citizens are wildly different.

Well it seems the doomsdayers were wrong again. It is kind of nice to have this post from the beginning to see the reactions of people and the posts that they made and compare them to the real world figures the CDC published.
It also seems that Trump was right all the time.
The CDC’s new estimate, for the first time, is broken down by age groups. Here is what the CDC calls its
“current best estimate” of chances of dying from the virus if you get infected:
1 out of 34,000 for ages 0 to 19;
1 out of 5,000 for ages 20 to 49;
1 out of 200 for ages 50 to 69; and
1 out of 20 for ages 70 and up.
Here’s another way to look at the same numbers. If you get infected, your chances of surviving are as follows:
Age Group Probability of Survival
0-19: 99.997% 20-49: 99.98% 50-69: 99.5% 70+: 94.6%

Wow prove it ! Like you made me prove every statement and post I made, then insulted me by calling it conspiracy and many other disparaging names. Live by your own rules for once and have the integrity and intelligence to defend your position properly. Otherwise don't insult and put your views out in public if you are not well prepared to defend them. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Some Midwestern states have more than 25% COVID-19 positive test rates: reporthttps://www.foxnews.com/us/some-midwestern-states-25-positive-test-rates-reportAn increase in testing could explain why cases are increasing, however, hospitalizations have also surged in the Midwest, which isn't influenced by how many tests are performed. Wyoming and North Dakota had record numbers of COVID-19 patients in their hospitals within the past week, while hospitalizations in Wisconsin set records twice last week. With the false positive / false negative percentage to date, I wouldn't put much stock in those numbers, unless it was confirmed by other symptoms.

What I personally and factually know about Covid.
It can be deadly but not the disease itself seems Pneumonia sets in and kills the people.
Respirators can be deadly more so than the illness.
Waiting to start antibiotics is a mistake and they can mitigate the illness.
The tests are pretty much useless.
Most I know who did have it got better, a very few went to the hospital some had a one day illness.
The biggest farse on the tests is on the tests themselves,
it says if the test comes back negative and you feel bad you have it.
If the test come back negative and you have antibodies, you may have had it or one of the many other Covid/flu illnesses or flu shots.
Printed on the tests themselves.
IT ALSO HAS A 99% CURE RATE.

99% "cure" rate is bullshit, Robert. There is no "cure" for C-19. The article also states that hospitalizations have recently surged in the Midwest. Since you "factually know" so much about coronavirus, you also know increased death rates will follow...

99% "cure" rate is bullshit, Robert. There is no "cure" for C-19. The article also states that hospitalizations have recently surged in the Midwest. Since you "factually know" so much about corona virus, you also know increased death rates will follow... I know of no such thing and I would be a little bold here and say if the doctors would catch up on what is currently working for many, maybe we would not have so many deaths. That rate is from the CDC, do you believe them? I quoted it from their website above. I say from what I know because I do have Doctor friends and I do know about 50 to 100 people that have come down with symptoms. Some actually did go to the hospital and a fewer still had to go again. But the majority of them got over it with varied intensities in the symptoms. The respirators were the biggest farce of the misdiagnosis and treatment of this illness and actually killed more than it helped. Once they learned NOT to use the respirator or give oxygen along with much lower pressure they had much better results in saving patients lives. Please remember also that the CDC also said that of the reported cases of Covid only about 9% actually die of the illness itself. So that means that all those who died did so of other illnesses many of them such as pneumonia is perfectly treatable caught early enough. Out of all the people I know who had symptoms and some were admitted to the hospital I only have one dear friend that has been in the hospital about 2 months. All the rest of the worse cases that I know either in the hospital or out have had a run of about 3 to 6 weeks with the illness. Extreme tiredness seems to be the most prevalent and lingering symptom. I have seen the tests personally and read instructions for blood tests and mailed in tests and that is what is printed on the tests. So yes I know personally. Do you want to know another little talked about tragic nonsense of this, you could not go in and see and touch the person admitted for Covid or suspected of having it. Heck you could not even go into nursing homes and some have died without the comfort of family. They were essentially all alone when they died with no one to comfort them, which is a little thought of fact in this whole mess.

I've also noted that I do not think that justifies state or federal mandates be they lockdowns, quarantine, masking or any other imposed restrictions. I will say that if I personally knew "50 to 100" (instead of one, or is it two?) folks who had C-19 - - some who had been hospitalized not only once but twice, with many who had experienced varying symptoms for three to six weeks including a dear friend who remains hospitalized after two months- - I would likely take the virus even more seriously than I currently do. Just sayin'. And AGAIN. Much like flu, this virus doesn't generally kill in itself. It is almost always complications resulting from a given virus that does the killing. In other words, even when folks die "from" seasonal flu it is most often listed on the certificate as an underlying factor - - not the casual factor. Kinda like pneumonia, organ failure, sepsis, stroke, heart failure, and immune reactions are common causal factors for death "from" the underlying C-19 virus.

I say this because we were supposed to have 600k in the US alone and we dont. If you can get healed and if there is a good chance you will be ok then while not inviting it in I have other things that need to be delt with that are more pressing. Did you know as I have said before that 2 million a year die of diarrhea? I know many that have had it but I have not known anyone to die of it. Now I still dont worry about that either.

Good thing that "killer" diarrhea isn't highly contagious! That could get ugly really fast.
Second thought. The underlying cause of killer diarrhea is likely cholera. Highly contagious.

UK stores have placed limits on toilet paper due to a new wave of panic buying due to the new lockdown. Terrible time to have the "Green apple quickstep"!

I can't ?
It might sound like twisted logic to you, and while I’m not saying Present Trump has lied to the American people, if you believe he would be the First President to lie to the American people you’d be real naive. As for whether or not I lie to my wife...let’s just say I tell her I like her cooking and I don’t worry about the kids too much now that their grown. All the tools I buy are necessary and that I’m always careful out on the bike.

Trump may not be the only President to lie to the American People, but he is certainly one of the biggest liars ever seen in that office. And no, I do not lie very well, so it is easier to not do it. This may have the result of people being pissed at me because when they ask my opinion - they get it - straight ,unvarnished, unflinching , sometimes brutal, truth. I find it easier to not say anything at all rather than lie.

As for whether or not I lie to my wife...let’s just say I tell her I like her cooking and I don’t worry about the kids too much now that their grown. All the tools I buy are necessary and that I’m always careful out on the bike.
We. have a lot in common...... But, normally, I just keep my mouth shut when dealing with the boss. Rams

I can't ?
Ok if you say so, he’s “one of the biggest liars ever seen in that office” ... do you have comparisons or is this just gut feelings? Are you keeping a detailed list of his “lies”. If the President says “it looks like we’re gong to have good weather today” and it ends up raining or a tornado blows through is that a lie? Throughout my life I’ve learned there are not only different levels of lies but the truth as well. For lies you have ; “The little white lie”, “the salesman’s pitch”, “The never ending story” or the spiders web, “mud slinging”, “covering your own butt”, the whole truth so help you God and “going nuclear”. For the truth you have; The basic truth, the honest truth, truth that will set you free, truth that will not hurt someone’s feelings, truth that will hurt someone’s feelings, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God and finally plain and simple brutal honesty, which is pretty much as you described. In politics there a line of perception and spin, what was said, how it was said, the language that was used what you want to hear and how the media reports it going back to when news was carved into tablets.

So basically all we need to do is get through the 2nd wave if that comes and we’re home free if we’re going to keep comparing this to the Spanish Flu. But yes thanks China.

Trump's lies trying to trivialize it piss me off too. But also the scientists trying to overblow it. And the inconsistent suggestions on what to do - they REALLY piss me off.
On an individual basis - it can be tragic. But in the large view - it's nothing more than a "super-flu".
Flu's don't affect the brain or the heart. This does. Technically it does. Anything respiratory effects the heart. And vice versa.

Joseph Stalin said "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic."
Yes, 200,000 dead is a statistic. One can visit any number of COVID-19-tracking websites, which I have linked previously in this thread, and see the numbers tick up in real time. But we must not forget that each time that number rises, someone has lost their mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, grandparent, friend, neighbor, or colleague. And someone has lost their life.
Rarely has a single event – even a protracted war – produced such a massive number of US casualties. In World War I, US military deaths totaled 116,516 – just over half the current COVID-19 death toll. As for World War II, between June 1944 and May 8, 1945, 104,812 US troops were killed in action in the European theater of operations. That includes D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and many more engagements.
Since WWII, fewer than 200,000 US troops have died in all wars combined. Think about that for a moment. All who lost their lives in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the first and second Persian Gulf Wars, the almost two-decade-long war in Afghanistan, and the 20-year-long “War on Terror” number fewer than those who have quietly perished from COVID-19 since February.
205,091 Americans dead in 7 months. TWO HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND AND NINTEY ONE PEOPLE WITH FAMILIES ARE DEAD WITHIN A SEVEN MONTH PERIOD.
205,091....and counting.

329,794,909 still living and trying to push past all the bs and get on with their lives. Trying to get back their livelihoods, businesses, jobs, school and the enjoyment of recreational activity. Dwelling on those who lost lives doesn’t help, the citizens know people have died, they don’t need a daily reminder, but that’s the focus. The virus sucks, but it’s life and we all have to just keep moving forward. Keep working, shopping, getting the kids to school, cooking dinner, doing the daily chores that life requires of each household. Keep moving forward with recreational activities for the kids and adults. Putting fans in the stands at all levels of sporting events. For the average citizen, carrying the burden of remorse, mourning and sadness of those unknown to them who have passed is a lot to ask. I’m sad people have died, but life goes on and it must go on unless the real course of action is to just give up all hope and say “ok virus you win” come and get me and send me to the afterlife. Maybe when this IS all over we’ll have a National Day of Mourning.

Mike, by all means get out there and live it up! Who is stopping you? One thing I agree with you on and have said here numerous times. We can talk about the numbers, and argue them, for decades after COVID is under some kind of control globally and the pandemic numbers are history. Presently it's not under control and numbers continue to rise... I have admittedly felt no remorse, but I have felt some sadness when thinking of those strangers who have passed away because of the virus. Heck, I've even shed some tears over them. Got a problem with that, big guy?

Maybe when this IS all over we’ll have a National Day of Mourning. Ya know Mike, I agree, you're right about the number of folks who have survived and several other things. I also don't wish to see our economy shut down but, I have to ask, is it such a big burden to mask up, social distance and wash your hands as a minimum? Seriously, I don't like wearing a mask, it frequently causes my glasses to fog up. Social distancing is easier for me, I don't like crowds. Hand washing is a given in my opinion. I don't see these simple things as violating my rights and yet, some folks absolutely refuse to take part in controlling the spread of this virus. You know the one, the virus that ends the lives of the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. This, I simply don't understand. This doesn't mean anyone should fear the virus for themselves and if you don't give a damn about others, so be it. But, when it strikes home, don't say you weren't warned. It could any time. I don't mean this as a personal attack, it's just my perspective. Rams

Here is the problem. There have been many pandemics in our nations history. (see link below) https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/basics/past-pandemics.htmlThis is the first time we have shut down our nation's economy because of a "Pandemic". The shutdown was made not to save lives but to flatten the curve, slow the spread and allow us to have fewer casualties due to the predicted demand for health care (intensive care and ventilator issues). In other words loss of life due to lack of medical care not to limit loss of life due to exposure to the virus. Now the stage is set, all China or any other country has to do to possibly cause us extreme economic harm is to release a another Pandemic. They have seen our response with advisors like the WHO and Fauci, and Brix. And you can look at Sweden. I will work tirelessly to make our state legislators enacted laws that will limit the Govenor's ability to shut down the state's economy and issue stay at home orders in the future. I could agree with a few weeks based on a storm or other similar event but for a month or more is in violation of the Freedom of Assembly Clause (and don't forget Churches were specifically targeted) And remember that not every one was subject to these shutdowns. Essential workers existed in Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Advanced Auto Parts and many other similar industries and were allowed to continue operation. If they can operate then any one should be able to operate.

Got a problem with that, big guy? Here in N.J. our restaurants and bars are operated under the restrictions of 25% capacity. Why don’t you try taking a 75% pay cut. I don’t know what the restaurant business is like by you but there are thousands of restaurants here in our state. Thousands of staff still not back to work, bartenders out of work and businesses that had to close permanently. I don’t go to sporting events except for 1 or 2 Yankee games a year with the family. My kids are done playing sports, but I do have 1 daughter who just graduated college looking for employment and my youngest who just began her Junior year of college trying to figure out this whole COVID issue with her courses. While 1 million have died around the world this is not the apocalypse, that’s as far as I can go with that. You say it’s not under control but it certainly is not running rampant. People are not dropping like flies. The hospitals are not overrun. Your level of sympathy for the deceased is yours, not mine. I’d don’t know what you’re looking for.

I don't mean this as a personal attack, it's just my perspective. Rams I didn’t take it as a personal attack. I can grasp the concept of another persons points of view. I like discussion, it’s good to know different perspectives and opinions. I try not to dismiss others and expect that in return. If I have it’s unintentional. I know somethings I’ve written sound callous, uncaring, cold and unsympathetic but they’ve been truthful and some of my most direct opinions. Why have an open discussion where real thoughts and opinions are not discussed in real-time. I have no misconception f this may hit my family as it has hit all the other families. I have openly discussed my wife has 3 underlying conditions, my 2 daughters have at least 1 underlying condition each. I have 1 underlying condition as does my brother, my niece has 2 underlying conditions, so I have skin in this game. I would be crushed to lose anyone in my own family as well as my extended family but we all know (in our family) there’s nothing we can do about it. To shop you need a mask, to go to a restaurant you need a mask, to go to a medical appointment you need a mask and so on, everything you do and everywhere you go you need a mask, so it’s not about the medical protocol, we’ve gone light years beyond that and people are missing that point for the sake of protecting a portion of society that’s the most at risk for almost any type of outside illness. Tens and tens of Millions are suffering the cost of ruined livelihoods for the sake of protecting the weakest and I’m sorry that sounds so cold but it’s the cold hard truth. There is no cold hard facts that show why this nation or any nation should be shut down or under any restrictions. Trying to control the spread of the virus is one thing, ruining people’s livelihoods, dreams, businesses and education is something completely different and I haven’t even touched on the possible ramifications of this upcoming election without the ability to vote in person. We here in the States have been given the right to do as we please within the guidelines of the Constitution and our local laws. Each person follows his or hers own moral compass and in the end may need to answer to a higher authority. Each person has the ability to do as they deem fit for their own good with the ability to know what may or may not be the best for all others. Not wanting to wear a mask may seem selfish to some but perfectly acceptable to others who may not have interactions with anyone highly vulnerable. Like speeding on the roadway, we all know it’s illegal; you, your passengers or another vehicle on the road my be involved in an accident but the majority do it anyway without a second thought and will deal with the possible consequences when it happens. Some exceed the speed limit cautiously and others with reckless abandon but either way there’s potential price to pay. If that’s a bad analogy sorry. This wasn’t suppose to go this long, don’t blame anyone if they skip it.
