I went for a ride today. It was only about a forty mile loop but I did it in a tee shirt. Temps were in the high sixties so it had to be done. The roads were not crowded even though the time was normally what we call rush hour.
I did pass a few deer carcasses. One was headless. I wondered how disconcerting it must have been for the people in the car to see a headless deer come running out into traffic. It's understandable he was hit having no eyes to guide him.
I came across this again in my reading. It encouraged me, maybe especially in a line or two. I was disappointed to hear that the governor of Colorado had quoted a part of it. I hope it will be encouraging to someone else during these stressful times.
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;
A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.
