There is opinion and there is data.

As an engineer, I believe in data first.

Chart showing the percentage of stories covering Covid-19 comparing CNN vs Fox:

The study is more quantitative (i.e. % of news) not qualitative (i.e. how the news were covered).

Guess what happened in the day *after* the huge spike (on March 12th) in coverage at FOX? Check:

2funny ohh the times i have witnessed engineers data fail.

I didn't read the Washington Post article, of course.  I wonder did they or you have a description of what exactly were the details of the federal government's laggard response?

This is only the start of the tally of the real cost of the goverments reaction to Covid-19, and I'm glad, IF,  Trump did in fact lag and not want to put these draconian measures into place.  I am truly sorry for those lost to this virus but this is not something we battle by closing the economy.  Im sure that whoever said that he did lag will demonstrate the cost of that delay otherwise keep quiet about it.

Because we do have the facts in what this is costing us to listen to the supposed "knowing people" and yet we see daily numbers being lowered in death cases. BUT we see a great climb in damage to the economy.

As was said so many times, "its funny how facts get in the way".

A Shocking 17 Million Americans Have Filed For Unemployment In Past 3 Weeks

Put another way, we have lost 1132 jobs for every confirmed US death from COVID-19 (14,817).

It would contribute to a meaningful discussion.  Simply stating it exists does not.

If you're asking whether it would change my mind or whether I would accept the claim as valid, the answer is probably not.

I would support Trump 100% on cutting back on our payments to the WHO based on how they botched this. They need to get their act straightened out. I also remember back in Jan when Trump wanted to cut off travel from China and Pelosi had a fit. People said that was racist.

I'd like to see a graft comparing the Russian Collusion story.  I'll bet a years salary that CNN blew FOX away, until Mueller's report came out, of course.  Hmmmm I wonder which network got that 3-year-story right??

To use CNN as a standard or as a comparator after what they've done over the last 4 years is probably the silliest way to present an argument or even an opinion.  They spent billions trotting out Russian experts, PhD's (phake doctors), Obama appointees, and everyone they could think of who hates the President, to lie to you, every single day for 3 years.   Not one of those experts presented any facts or truths because there were none according to their own 2-year, multi-million dollar investigation.  Common sense, or even the sense of self preservation should kick in at some point.
