I have never understood the people who resort to damaging property, setting fires, and stealing from businesses when they sense a grave injustice has occurred.
It certainly appears the police officers involved in the latest death of a black man in their custody went way too far in their handling of his arrest. I guess every person who puts on the uniform are not really the right fit for the job. I know I have encountered a few who had a slight god complex, though nothing like the most recent incident in the national spotlight.
The sight of both light and dark skinned individuals running through stores with their bounty and out the front door like kids on Christmas morning sickens me. Maybe they will stop and give thanks to George Floyd every time they turn on their new flat screen tv.

If a red neck sees an unlevel playing field like in our goverment today he wants to use a weapon to remove the offenders. So it is in the riots, few are truly upset by a seeming unjustice done, others use it as an oppertuitny to loot. The looters destroy any credibility to see it as a legit act of upsetment and seeking of justice. Just as the rioters are fighting against the very buisnesses and police meant to keep thier city safe and supplied destroy it for everyone. In essence destroying their own place they live and not affecting the change they want.
Misdirected anger, destroys the country, stops effective change, turns places and goverment into third world living.
I hate to see the fighting among ourselves when its the rulers and authorities that everyone should join in to express our disatisfaction and press for change. They make the laws, enforce the laws and should be held responsible, not our fellow citizen.
A sad statement about society today.

Ferguson Mo. couple years back have NO idea if this made national lame stream media but I Believe-wurkin from memory here-it was alluded to that a good portion of "the rioters" were from other than Ferguson much less from Missouri. I saw this post cuz the same danged thing was on my mind after observing what the-ahem-"media" served up. Missed that part OR it weren't shown about the disabled Lady in the wheel chair. Every cursed time an injustice is done-or in this case murder caught on video-and folks Only involved cuz of skin pigmentation and then Destroying homes and businesses solves exactly WHAT? Curious minds and like that. RIDE SAFE.

I’m amused that some people say that the President is an embarrassment to the country by some of this words and actions. These riots for lack of a better term, are far more embarrassing for America than our President. And it seems our elected officials are so frozen by fear of political correctness that when something like this happens they seem both tongue tied and hand tied about what to do.
It’s certainly a tragic situation for all involved.

There is no justification for the riots and looting. I understand about the people coming to PEACEFULLY protest the senseless killing by the police officers - but rioting and looting has no part of that. Same with what happened to the handicapped lady. WHat if it was YOUR mom in that wheelchair - would you want her getting assaulted that way ?

They are angry. Whether they are right or wrong they see the killing by the police officers as just an example of a system that has victimized and held them down. The killing of the black man is not the reason, simply the ignition source.

I'm fully in support of peaceful demonstration over this incident. They have a legitimate beef in my opinion. It's the looting and rioting that is out of place and needs to be controlled.
BTW, the Gov. activated the National Guard to patrol the area.

another muslm response On Thursday, former San Francisco quarterback and multi-millionaire racial activist Colin Kaepernick posted a message in support of violent rioting in Minneapolis According to Kaepernick, “civility” is leading to “death,” which means “the only logical reaction” is to “revolt.” “When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction,” Kaepernick posted to Twitter on Thursday. https://www.dailywire.com/news/kaepernick-posts-message-cheering-violent-rioting-denouncing-civility-in-response-to-george-floyd-death?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=benshapiro

In the 60's, who do you think had a more intelligent approach to racism? Malcolm X, or MLK? The situation at hand, disgusting as it is, will create even more problems.....blacks are frustrated, who can blame them? Violence will do nothing short of creating more division. When I watched Rodney King beaten, and cops getting off for it, it turned my stomach. So did the violence surrounding it. As in all of life today....we need good leaders. Sad to say, they are few and far between. I'm sure Sharpton will be seeking his moment in the sun again.

To destroy a business or individual in a riot is not gaining anything useful. It is a mindless way to contribute to stupidity. The LEO was WRONG to kneel on the mans neck. A properly applied choke hold will cause a person to pass out in 30 t0 60 seconds. Closing off one side is torcher . I know these techniques. The LEO should have let off when he was cuffed. I watched the video and it is just my opinion. There was a comment on the Ferguson riots. Some where I read (?) that rioters were filmed and some were in riots in other cities. Is there a web site for " hire a rioter". Any rioters filmed and identified should be arrested and made to be responsible for damages. Insurance companies should file law suites against all those identified. A L S O I dislike using the word should. It is a directive. da prez

This has no bearing on the senseless arson and looting, but the video I saw he was handcuffed long before they put him down on the ground and started cutting off his wind. I haven't seen any video of what happened in between. You would think 4 officers could handle a handcuffed suspect fairly easily. They should release the body cam videos.

This is horrible. The crime of one really bad cop, who should probably have been fired long ago, is causing so much destruction. And even worse, it promotes the false narrative (aided by dishonest politicians and media) of widespread police brutality against the black community.
There's an interesting common thread between this and two similar high profile cases in recent years. As with George Floyd, overzealous police officers likely caused the deaths of Eric Garner and Freddie Gray. And in all three cases the police force, along with every other branch of local government, was controlled by the same party that founded the KKK.

A little disingenuous. It could easily be said that Protestants or ex Confederate officers founded the KKK. The truth probably lies with a combination of the 3. Per Wikipedia ; Klans First KKK See also: Nathan Bedford Forrest § Ku Klux Klan membership The first Klan was founded in Pulaski, Tennessee, on December 24, 1865[21] by six former officers of the Confederate army[22] as a fraternal social club inspired at least in part by the then largely defunct Sons of Malta. It borrowed parts of the initiation ceremony from that group, with the same purpose: "ludicrous initiations, the baffling of public curiosity, and the amusement for members were the only objects of the Klan", according to Albert Stevens in 1907.[23] The manual of rituals was printed by Laps D. McCord of Pulaski.[24] According to The Cyclopædia of Fraternities (1907), "Beginning in April, 1867, there was a gradual transformation ... The members had conjured up a veritable Frankenstein. They had played with an engine of power and mystery, though organized on entirely innocent lines, and found themselves overcome by a belief that something must lie behind it all – that there was, after all, a serious purpose, a work for the Klan to do."[23] Although there was little organizational structure above the local level, similar groups rose across the South and adopted the same name and methods.[clarification needed][25] Klan groups spread throughout the South as an insurgent movement promoting resistance and white supremacy during the Reconstruction Era. For example, Confederate veteran John W. Morton founded a chapter in Nashville, Tennessee.[26] As a secret vigilante group, the Klan targeted freedmen and their allies; it sought to restore white supremacy by threats and violence, including murder. "They targeted white Northern leaders, Southern sympathizers and politically active blacks."[27] In 1870 and 1871, the federal government passed the Enforcement Acts, which were intended to prosecute and suppress Klan crimes.[28] The first Klan had mixed results in terms of achieving its objectives. It seriously weakened the black political establishment through its use of assassinations and threats of violence; it drove some people out of politics. On the other hand, it caused a sharp backlash, with passage of federal laws that historian Eric Foner says were a success in terms of "restoring order, reinvigorating the morale of Southern Republicans, and enabling blacks to exercise their rights as citizens".[29] Historian George C. Rable argues that the Klan was a political failure and therefore was discarded by the Democratic leaders of the South. He says: the Klan declined in strength in part because of internal weaknesses; its lack of central organization and the failure of its leaders to control criminal elements and sadists. More fundamentally, it declined because it failed to achieve its central objective – the overthrow of Republican state governments in the South.[30] After the Klan was suppressed, similar insurgent paramilitary groups arose that were explicitly directed at suppressing Republican voting and turning Republicans out of office: the White League, which started in Louisiana in 1874; and the Red Shirts, which started in Mississippi and developed chapters in the Carolinas. For instance, the Red Shirts are credited with helping elect Wade Hampton as governor in South Carolina. They were described as acting as the military arm of the Democratic Party and are attributed with helping white Democrats regain control of state legislatures throughout the South.[31] In addition, there were thousands of Confederate veterans in what were called rifle clubs.

I heard he was on his way. In the 30+ years he's been on the scene, he has never once made any situation better. In fact, on several occasions, such as in Crown Heights, an innocent man was killed directly because of his race, ethnic, and religious baiting.

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger says online encyclopedia scrapped neutrality, favors lefty politics
Maxine Waters has now been officially activated again along with all the other race baiters.
Born on this day in 1886, Hugo Lafayette Black, a lawyer and politician from Alabama, was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1937. Not long after, a reporter exposed his affiliation with notorious racist organization the Ku Klux Klan.
In that interview, Black said he joined because he wanted to keep the organization from getting too extreme and because many other Alabama lawyers belonged to it. He maintained that he he was against hate and that the Klan he joined was “a fraternal organization, really.”
This is the same judge that gave us the ruling on seperation of church and state

In the most heavily garrisoned/occupied states of the South like South Carolina and Mississippi (not Virginia or Tennessee for example) there were many groups who openly defied Republican rule. The federally armed all black militias in South Carolina were also openly defied. See the recent scholarly university press book "Hurrah for Hampton" to see how many Red Shirts had black skin.

This is what MLK jr said long time ago “Certain conditions continue to exist in our society, which must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. But in the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the Negro poor has worsened over the last few years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice, equality and humanity. And so in a real sense our nation’s summers of riots are caused by our nation’s winters of delay. And as long as America postpones justice, we stand in the position of having these recurrences of violence and riots over and over again. Social justice and progress are the absolute guarantors of riot prevention” MLK Jr. 1966
