If Covid was in the sewers of Italy why would it not be here?

It is serious.  It is marginally deadly.  It doesn't rate the destructive measures we've taken to avoid or control it.
YES, absofrigginglutely.

Listening to men make predictions that have been so far off you would think that many would get the idea.

At the time it was to inspire some hope in the wake of ultimate panic in the streets and people raiding the supermarkets. An optimistic hope and opinion.

Hindsight being what it is is the equalizer, great for propaganda and rhetoric.

Things are better now, and people are chomping at the bit to get on with their normal routine, with the exception of those who want to continue to control the narrative as well as those who want to keep getting that extra $600.00 a week and not go back to work.

It is a lot of people.  COVID-19 is a serious illness but the point is that it is simply not as overwhelming as is being presented to us to inspire our panic.

Big numbers get our attention.  Worldwide there are about 391,233 babies born each day.  Each day there are about 164,384 deaths, without COVID-19, in the world.  In view of those numbers 668,000 deaths (exaggerated) over six months doesn't seem so greatly catastrophic for the world's population.  Actually that death rate, averaging 3,660 per day, doesn't even make a dent in the population growth for the time.

It is serious.  It is marginally deadly.  It doesn't rate the destructive measures we've taken to avoid or control it.
It's dealy to those it kills, and probably very frightening for them too.  I didn't say it "rates" with or justifies the measures taken.  You say the media outlets are trying to justify "our" panic.  They will may be, but speak for yourself.  I'm not panicked.

I hope I spoke in the first person plural.  The English language is a bit misleading that way.  Even though I said it was to inspire our panic I hope my actions demonstrate that I am not panicked.  I'll leave you to determine your definition of panic.

Another study on Hydroxychloroquine

July 2, 2020

Treatment with Hydroxychloroquine Cut Death Rate Significantly in COVID-19 Patients, Henry Ford Health System Study Shows

In a large-scale retrospective analysis of 2,541 patients hospitalized between March 10 and May 2, 2020 across the system’s six hospitals, the study found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine alone died compared to 26.4% not treated with hydroxychloroquine. None of the patients had documented serious heart abnormalities; however, patients were monitored for a heart condition routinely pointed to as a reason to avoid the drug as a treatment for COVID-19.

Henry Ford Health System is currently also involved in a prophylactic hydroxychloroquine study: “Will Hydroxychloroquine Impede or Prevent COVID-19,” or WHIP COVID-19. The study is a 3,000-person, randomized, double-blinded look at whether hydroxychloroquine prevents healthcare and frontline workers from contracting the COVID-19 virus. The WHIP COVID-19 team is working on expanding study sites while there is a lull in the number of COVID-19 cases in Southeast Michigan. This is in preparation for a potential increase of COVID-19 cases as Fall flu season approaches, with additional sites available for convenient enrollment of healthcare workers and first responders. The WHIP COVID-19 team is also taking this gift of time to reach out to other areas of the world that are seeing a blossoming of cases: Brazil and Argentina. There are currently 619 people enrolled in the study, out of a target of 3,000.

Ok, so,I took some time and went to the New England Journal of Medicine website

https://www.nejm.org/search?q=hydroxychloroquine+covid+19&asug=H

I read through several articles on tests and testing the conclusion is mostly more testing is needed and most testing is for the most part inconclusive or minimal results for severe patients. Some tests show good results, some show no results but none (that read through) showed bad results. It seemed as though a test to act as a prophylaxis is small but with positive results but disregarded as inconclusive by peers.

Also the dosage levels of the tests were at higher levels than those doctors (in the video) were speaking about. Did it skew the test, maybe. Is HCQ a danger? To most everyone probably not. I did not read of a death caused by taking the medication in the test even at the higher dosage than the (video) doctors were recommending.

Some follow up

This study is co-written by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko one of the very first doctors, very early was vocal about HCQ, Zinc and ZPac. Another co-author is Dr. Harvey Risch.

Let those who vote to the right use hydroxychloroquine if they want to.

Everyone else is free to wait for a vaccine?

Ok... I saw this on a Facebook post.  So, knowing that anyone can post almost anytime on Facebook, I used DuckDuckgo to do a search using the following term.

"virology journal august 22 2005"

Actually I only had to type in the first word and part of the second and the thing autofilled.

The first hit was

https://virologyj.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1743-422X-2-69

The next hit was

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/may/06/blog-posting/dont-fall-conspiracy-about-dr-anthony-fauci-hydrox/

About two more items down was the following hit

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16115318/

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus (SARS-CoV). No effective prophylactic or post-exposure therapy is currently available.

Results: We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage. In addition to the well-known functions of chloroquine such as elevations of endosomal pH, the drug appears to interfere with terminal glycosylation of the cellular receptor, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. This may negatively influence the virus-receptor binding and abrogate the infection, with further ramifications by the elevation of vesicular pH, resulting in the inhibition of infection and spread of SARS CoV at clinically admissible concentrations.

Conclusion: Chloroquine is effective in preventing the spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. Favorable inhibition of virus spread was observed when the cells were either treated with chloroquine prior to or after SARS CoV infection. In addition, the indirect immunofluorescence assay described herein represents a simple and rapid method for screening SARS-CoV antiviral compounds.

So, you can choose to make your own decisions.

And then I saw this from OAN.  Its a YouTube video

(I apologize if these two items have been previously posted.  I did look but....)

While the media continues to slam the use of hydroxychloroquine, numerous studies have revealed countries that used the drug are doing much better than those that haven't. One America's Pearson Sharp has the details.
