Earlier in this thread, Serk asked about its allegiance during a certain war. In answer to that question, it is in a Yankee state.

Still like the idea of a 2nd InZane in West Virginia. Parkersburg, WV meets given criteria and is a nice mid size town.

We may need to clarify that distinction. Are we identifying political allegiance as in the state didn't secede from the union or cultural allegiance as in it was not a slave holding state? There were at least three states that did not join the Confederacy but their residents would be offended at being called yankees.

No wait, I lived in Tucson for some years as I separated from the AF at Davis-Monthan and stayed in the area for a couple years. Also did boot camp at Lackland, San Antonio but that's not LIVING. Also stationed at Nellis - Las Vegas - now that WAS living! But wait they were admitted to the Union in 1864 and were loyal to the Union, not dispatriated like Arizona & Texas. Arizona Territiry sided with the South and supplied three Confederate military units. New Mexico Territory sided with the North. Besides I take your saving pie for me and the scotch tasting in the parking lot as an advance apology for the above. Seriously the war has been over for 155 years and your predecessors LOST. Get over it. I don't care about history that old (as it pertains to me - though I do study history). And neither am I responsible for what some white people did to blacks back then, so reparations are not due from me. Besides - my ancestors at that time were mostly in Deutschland. No I'm not responsible for the Nazi's either - we were long gone before then.

Good, don't wanna get you TOO mad at me, plan on bugging you about pipes on my new-to-me Interstate at some point... But for better or for worse, afraid many Southerners will never, ever just get over it... We've learned to live with it, but get over it? Never... As to the map, I utilized the 2 states previously remaining that fully seceded (Tennessee and Virginia) in my shrinkage... ... Seriously the war has been over for 155 years ...
It's not really about the war. It's about the culture. Those who've not been part of it find it difficult to understand. And as I was posting this Willow came along and said it much clearer than I could...

I stayed at the Baymont Inn, but I imagine there are larger facilities there. It is a college town after all.

So, Serk had it figured out first with his collaborator Disco. Then Oss (I presume, he didn't actually said the city). And, finally Valker from Oss' clue. Please remember, this is unofficial until the contract is signed. We're hoping early next week.

Another great location for InZane XXI. Lots of nice roads for day rides. We end up in this area each year when traveling to the Midwest stopping at our favorite Amish Cheese store "Guggisberg Cheese" in Millersburg, OH. About a 105 miles of backroads North from Athens. Real nice riding but you have to watch for animal by products in the Millersburg area.

Anywhere from 600 to 800 miles for me. All depends on if I go over the top of Lake Michigan or use the ferry and come in at Ludinton, MI. Shortest route is south through Chicago but that's an automatic NO for me. Looks like a good choice again by the staff.

All this talk about isochromes, Serkles, data crunching, shrinkage, and funny looking maps is Greek to me.
I was tempted to add or or or or or or but decided to be less obvious. I hope the discussions lead to contracts and a big InZane XXI! BTW, there was a third detective involved who shall remain nameless, but, as usual, Serk did the heavy lifting.

Since it's a subject that comes up whenever travel is the subject, here's a little info on Ohio's concealed carry laws. "Reciprocity/Out-of-state licenses. Ohio Rev. Code § 109.69 authorizes the Ohio Attorney General to negotiate specific reciprocity agreements with other jurisdictions. A non-resident of Ohio with a valid concealed handgun license issued by another state, regardless of whether the other state has entered into a reciprocity agreement with the Ohio attorney general, may carry in Ohio while the person is temporarily in Ohio, and their license shall be recognized in Ohio and grants the person the same right to carry as a person with an Ohio license."
No matter what I do, I'll have to travel through CT, NY, and PA to get there. Riding the gauntlet, as it were.
