https://www.wsj.com/articles/second-presidential-debate-will-be-virtual-debate-commission-says-11602157139

“ President Trump said he wouldn’t participate in the second debate with Democratic nominee Joe Biden after the Commission on Presidential Debates announced Thursday that the event would be held virtually.”

“I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” Mr. Trump said on Fox Business.

“The commission’s announcement that the two candidates would participate “from separate remote locations” was made after Mr. Trump and a growing number of White House staffers tested positive for coronavirus following the first presidential debate last week.“

“Here are the facts: President Trump will have posted multiple negative tests prior to the debate, so there is no need for this unilateral declaration,” said Bill Stepien, the Trump campaign manager. “The safety of all involved can easily be achieved without canceling a chance for voters to see both candidates go head-to-head. We’ll pass on this sad excuse to bail out Joe Biden and do a rally instead.”

The facts are that they know what future tests will be ? Even if they were, can they be trusted ? There are many unanswered questions already.
After his first debate, I'm not surprised he doesn't want another.

Has nothing to do with the first debate. Don’t want Joe to have a couple of teleprompter’s and people feeding him answers.

Yep, exactly, biden is being protected. There is no reason for not having a formal debate. They were moving the podiums at least 12 ft apart.

Personally I wouldn't want to be within a mile of either biden or harris.

separate rooms or 20 feet apart

Yes and check ears and for teleprompters for sure

And cut the mikes out 10 seconds after their time is up

If this were to happen remotely, a delegate from the debate commission and a representative from each campaign would need to be allowed in to observe each setting while the debate was ongoing.

I would do plexiglass cubicles with there own vent system. So everyone can see each other. One moderator and a camera man. A fog horn blow at the designated time and mikes off after 10 seconds. And please answer the darn question can not stand song and dance BS.
