Up late which gave the sun a chance to take the edge off the morning chill.  Cheesy

50F as I leave home.

5 miles down the road and I realize my heated gear isn't. Fuse must be blown and I'll check that during the week.

I'm still warm enough with my trusty 17 year old Honda winter jacket. I spray it with water repellent every fall. The powerless Gerbing gloves are keeping my hands warm and most of the route will be in sunshine but I do notice the temperature drop in shaded areas.

Lake Burton

Popcorn Overlook

Away from the main roads I have a nearly traffic free run whilst all the leaf peeping tourists dash ant like along straight lines eager to see the fall colors.  I pass a couple of popular hiking trail access points and it makes me smile seeing the dozens of cars parked on grass verges so the occupants can go hiking away from others. Some parked with the body of their vehicle intruding onto the roadway.

Up and over Brasstown Bald and through Black Bear Curve where I was paced by a  black bear VERY CLOSELY last year for a couple of seconds.

Approaching the western end of the Richard Russell Parkway (GA version of the Cherohala Skyway) a group of sports cars are pulling out in front of me. I brake hard and wave on the last 2 Corvettes so they can keep up with the group. Pffffttttt, not a hand wave in thanks.

They all turn in the direction i am going. Will the make a right turn onto Wolf Pen Gap or go straight up and over Blood Mountain?

Right.

Good I can make the run over the mountain. I let a couple of faster vehicles go by so iI can use them as radar chaff in case there's any revenuers lying in wait.

A good clear run and a sharp righ by Turners Corner leads me to the ridiculous new BIG roundabout circling the Stone Pile at the bottom of Hwy 60.

Here's come the car group and I give the 2 Corvettes a wave. No response. Pffffffffttttt.

A couple of grass verge parking lotsof peeper/hikers vehicles.

Two Wheels of Suches is slammed and a good turn out of bikes from the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I don't add the Valkyrie to the group. Those are show bikes. Mine is a riding bike and bears the scars.

House I like in the Trackrock area.  7 garages.

I ride through the Trackrock area on my way towards Bell Mtn.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track_Rock

I know Bell Mtn. will be busy with peepers and I will have to be very cautious on the steep narrow road to the summit.

I could choose to go another day but the sunshine, low humidity and 60F is difficult to resist.

Oh good, I have an SUV to follow up. That will give me protection from the fools who speed down.

A few quick stops for those who can't understand it's harder to start off uphill than downhill. The SUV ahead of me spins its wheels a couple of times trying to get traction on the steep slope.

The first parking lot looks like a Chinese fire drill as peepers are trying to park or leave. Most don't want to give way to others. The arrivers can't work out that it's best to let the leavers go first so that there will be easy parking.

A few blips of the throttle clear a way through the peepers walking up to the summit who fail o understand they are still on a vehicle access road.

The ride down the mountain is easier as the mini van ahead of me stops for vehicles coming up.

Back to Clayton and I see my donkey friend , Jack, is at his gate.

Zoom home for carrots.

His pasture isn't very well managed and there are many tall weeds.

After carrots are eaten I work on de-seeding him. There's no touching until the food offering is consumed.

The seeds are fascinating in the variety and their adaptation to promoting their spread.

I've been feeding and brushing him for over 2 years and he lets me remove seeds right next to his eyes and in his ears.

Such a poseur.

All depends on land. Maybe $1 million.

Interesting that the house and land are listed seperately, how does one sell without the other?  Wink  1.1 mil might get you a 50 year old 1600 sq ft rancher in parts of Vancouver or Toronto. On my frequent work travels and MC rides through most parts of the US and across Canada through the years, I've always found it interesting to look around at residential real estate prices, comparing similar properties from one region to  another.

cooldude  Nice report, beautiful place.  You earned some good karma points for picking the seeds and burrs from the donkey's face!   cooldude

That's if you want the lot to complete the whole package.
