Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers . Just did a motorcycle trip with him up to Indiana back in September. He was put on a ventilator today. Damn the Chinese bastards that started this .

Got some news today he continues to improve with hope he may come off the ventilator by Sunday if he keeps up the fight.

Winghot's ventilator has been decreased to the lowest settings. They attempted to wean this morning, but he started coughing and O2 sats dropped more than they wanted. They were going to try again this afternoon.

From yesterday: Vent is down to 50% and PEEP 8. They need to get down to 35% and 5 before attempting another weaning trial. Large amounts of secretions are coming up (good thing, pneumonia breaking up). He seems to be getting stronger; waking more, less sedation, and following commands. They may try another weaning trial tomorrow (i.e. today). |
