There is a possibility of a '15 Valk entering my garage and I was wondering if there is an aftermarket rack that fits on the rear fender when the bike is set up in solo mode kinda like the one we had for the 1500 Valk.

Thanks.

Short answer is no I looked after I bought mine.
But once I put a Cobin seat on it I stopped looking.

Thanks Jack, that looks just like the one I have my eye on. Which windshield is on yours? I'm thing of a Madstad since I like the one on my F6B.

Thanks st2sam, I was aware of those, but my question was about a rack that would sit on top of the fender when in solo mode(rear seat removed). Thanks again.(I'm retired too  cooldude)

Here's a cheap rack that might fit with some work.
When I was looking a rack I thought Indian had some good looking rack but they were very pricey.
Also Yamaha.

The factory rack sets up without a seat entirely. It bolts to the grab handles on either side, but if you dont keep them then I dont know of any rack that will work.

What ever happened to Pago? I remember him working on putting a 1800cc motor into a 1500 Valkyrie.

Sharp bike Robert cooldude
The carrier/rack will mount as Robert stated, "The factory rack sets up without a seat entirely. It bolts to the grab handles on either side"

OR

It will also mount directly to the stock sissy bar.

Thank you  Grin

Good looking bike Robert

Never hurts to have admirers  cooldude

I put the pics up so you can see the rack is not mounted to the Corbin seat. The 2 bolts that hold the rack to the bracket are the brackets that come from 2 small rails that are bolted to the handles.

If Pago had put his racks into production it would have been good.

I know Detn8er has one on his V1500 and is very pleased with ti.

Installing the Honda Valkrie VTX 1300/1800 rack.   {{   READ FIRST!  }}
You will be using new bolts to hold the rack on the bike.    On the tour model the rack fits between the chrome bezels and the saddle bag supports.

1.   First…Protect the rear fender with a good thick towel. ((Just in case))

2.   Remove the 2 front bolts (10 mm) and the 2 rear bolts (8mm)  Leave the middle bolts where they are. ….DO NOT LOOSEN THEM!

3.   The rack will spread open to fit the bike. Take your time. The front bezel is a little wider than the back…

4.   Open the rack and carefully set the small spacers into the bolts and insert into the rear holes in chrome bezel …  just enough to get them started.

5.   Spread the front of the rack and put the 2 large bolts into the holes.

6.   Put the washers I supplied on the bolts then install them and tighten securely…. ((No washers on the tour models))…. That’s it!

Remember, the rack is only as strong as the bolts that hold it on the bike.

Even a truck can be overloaded, so don’t overload the rack.

Scott, a former admin, told me his OEM rack broke when he had a heavy
top case affixed to it. He told me that when he noticed the heavy top case
I had affixed to mine :-) ...

Anywho... a heavy duty thick folded metal one is probably stronger than the OEM
square tubed one...

How timely, mine just arrived. I am impressed with the quality of every piece of Honda OEM purchases thus far. Extreme quality, perfect chrome job, thick 3/16" and heavy. The precise fit of the OEM parts on this bike make me smile, and makes the prices easier to digest. That beauty is straight out of the package, I haven't even rubbed on it yet. A solid work of art.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING.

Please do not put anything on the rack without some type of towel or covering over it.

The rack is strong and beautiful but I put something like a pizza box on it and it left a mark like a fine scratch. I was pretty pissed that this happened and I could not get it out. Its not terrible but i learned my lesson and always use some type of covering on it. I thought of putting like a phone screen protector material on it or like clear automotive wrap on it to keep it looking new.

Just wanted to warn you.  cheers

The good thing is once you get that first scratch all the following ones are a lot less painful.

Thanks  cooldude ... I don't think the flags are in danger, especially in Marion Virginia, but
the Confederate solder monument might be...  Cry I hear they're getting rid of the one in
Lewisburg West Virginia...

Gainesville is pretty close to Atlanta, but it looks like there's still some
nice roads through the countryside to get there...
