There is no viable option for your wishes. If you are truly so dissatisfied with this country there is always the option of moving.

You're satisfied with the way things are right now? You think the constant attacks, bickering, anger are sustainable?

I'm not your enemy, I'm your friend, but through the lens of this we're being pushed into adversarial roles, with no need or benefit to it.

Something's got to change. I'm open to suggestions.

My friend, you have been of the mind to secede forever. When your mindset is "We need to secede" that leaves little room in your thinking for building a better country.

The problem with proposing an amicable division between the conservative and liberal portions of our country is that they're interspersed.  There are large portions of liberal states occupied by conservatives and portions of conservative states occupied by liberals.  Looking at a red and blue counties map of the country pretty well rules out an amicable separation.

I agree it would be very difficult and painful. The real divide in this nation is more of an urban/rural one really.
But what we're doing now isn't working, it's turning brother against brother (Sorry, forgot my Newspeak, sibling against sibling.)
It wouldn't be a quick or painless process, I'm thinking 5 years to work out who gets what, and another 5 year deadline to allow people time to move to the "side" they're more comfortable with.

Not a perfect solution, but the path we're currently on isn't sustainable and is just going to cause more anger, angst, suffering, etc.

Another possibility, and one that I'd really prefer to see, is that we get back to the way the constitution originally set things up, where the very limited power of government was mostly at the state and local level, and the federal government's role was mostly involved in international affairs.

But frankly, I feel that's even less likely than a divorce at this point.

Not saying I have the answer, but something has to change or we're going to implode in a nasty fashion, and I'd much rather see something be done calmly and rationally. Open to ideas!

Do you really think you've won anything Rob? What we have now is a nation without the rule of law. Our Constitution has been trampled and our votes no longer count. The nation is now ungovernable, and that's on you cheaters and subversives..

You have 75 million people whose vote has literally been disenfranchised including my own. The fact that you can look at all of the evidence of cheating, if you even have, and say that none of it is possibly true speaks volumes about your character.

No sir, I'm not moving anywhere, and I'm going to fight you people until the end, whatever that looks like.

Being a multi generational native Texan (On my mom's side, we don't discuss my dad's side) secession is kinda my knee jerk reaction. I'm open to alternative suggestions, but even you have to admit what we're doing right now ain't working.

Secession may not be necessary..  the coming few days will determine the course of the entire free world.

It's not over..  not yet.

Seems the concensus in media is that we should listen to opposing standpoints and react lovingly.   smitten

This is a healing, learning moment!

Kinda like high school rivals who duke it out and become best buds.

Probably not happening...

Then it's time to get to work making it better. There are some basic principles the country is founded on. The rule of law may be the most important. There are tons of stuff that get passed and get litigated that I vehemently disagree with. The Constitution dictates how elections are done. Most people here don't seem to understand that each States has authority for its voting. If people in their respective states wish to change how it's done they have laws for how that is done. If people in their states think the voting was done improperly they can take it to the courts. Other than that it's a done deal. This wacky bullshit of QAnon propoganda of "stealing the vote" is just nuts. This incitement from a President to stop the Congress from doing their Constitutional duty is just nuts.

This wacky bullshit of QAnon propoganda of "stealing the vote" is just nuts.

I watched a video of a poll worker run the SAME stack of ballots through a machine 5 (yes FIVE) times.  I get that every vote counts... but it should ONLY count ONCE.

I watched video of ballot counters locking doors and preventing anyone from watching the process.  That is illegal in EVERY state.

One state had a court judge and governor change state election law... something that can only be done by legislature.  That is unconstitutional, both federally AND at the state level.

None of that is "bullshit"... there's actual evidence... video, audio, documentation, witnesses (FIRST person witnesses, not 4th or 5th person like was used to impeach Trump a year ago).

Of course, all of it is getting harder to find now... every big tech company is deleting it as fast as they can.  But it you were actually paying attention while it was happening... watching/reading anything other than "mainstream" media... the evidence was EVERYWHERE.  Big tech couldn't delete it fast enough to completely hide it.

I paid attention. All of your "incidents" have been debunked.
