Road glide fairing on their std/ tourer? I saw a picture of one from the front and I’m sure years ago a member out in California was one of if not the first to do the conversion. I’m thinking I like it.

I have a Harley fairing on my Tourer, had it for years. With all the stupid nomenclature that HD assigns to their bikes I wouldn't know a Roadglide from a Powerglide from a horse and buggy so have no idea what mine is. Is that one with two or a single headlight?

Road Glide has two headlights ala the Interstate. I believe it is a frame mount, not fork mount like a batwing.

Doesn't one of the FL crowd have a Road Glide faring on his Valk. (Nick or Bronxboy?)

I seem to remember it at Maggie Valley NC during the Spearfish Inzane.

It is a frame mount fairing (and a better aerodynamic design than any batwing).

Looks great on a Valk.   cooldude

I think I found it.  (and I think he bought it that way)

Reason I remember, my old 1986 Harley FXRD (and also FXRTs (Tourer) and FXRP (Police)), before FXRs were replaced with Dynas in the early 90s, was the last (and maybe only) fixed fairing bikes Harley sold, before the Road Glide.  Rode it 18 years and traded up up to a '99 Interstate.

Only the 1986 FXRDs came standard with lowers (under the fairing), which could go on and off (but they could be bought and added to RTs and RPs).

Here is the rarest FXRP cop bike fairing (with extra lights, but without lowers) next to a later Road Glide (fixed fairings).

A fixed fairing takes all the weight off the handlebars and steering is lighter and less affected by wind (but the ABS of the FXRs and Valk fairings is lighter than the fiberglass of the Road Glide fairing).  Only downside is in darkness, your lights are always a wee bit behind you in turns.

Both came with stereos and speakers too.  But I know absolutely nothing about bolting/wiring one up to a Valk.

My 20+ year old Valkyrie could sure use an upgrade like that over my Hondaline shield.

Take a look at the Valkyrie Riders of Florida FB page. Admin Nick Campagnale owns the one Jess posted above. Jess is correct, Nick bought it with the fairing already installed.

There was a write up done by the person that mounted that fairing. I would search the tech page if interested.

Thanks guys and thanks Jess for the pic. I’ve been doing a preliminary search for parts and so far it seems like an expensive project without even considering the fabrication involve. But I’m not ready to give up on the idea.

Personally, I think you should put your efforts into getting her back up in running condition. If after that you still want a fairing, then go for it. It's too easy for me to get bogged down doing stuff.

I’m a multitasker! No really, I know I want something more than the Hondaline shield I have but the RG fairing could be too much involved, don’t know. Right now I’m looking over Harbor Freights motorcycle lifts cause I don’t currently have one and I need to get the old girl up off the ground. I have spent a few hours today clearing out a space in the basement to move the bike into.

Also I emailed an old member who did the black Valkyrie with the RG fairing in the pictures above but haven’t heard back yet.  He had posted pictures of this application to the Valkyrie but they are just empty boxes now. Anybody know where “39 Chev” is now? In his last posts he had bought a Victory Vision and was loving it.

Brad emailed back and he sent some pics but none of the install, he just couldn’t find them. I’ll check with the current owner to see if he has anything.
