I have been going to the gym now for
about a year now. I was thinking I would
loose some weight and feel better. Well I
do feel better but I have gained about 8 lbs
and my shirts are starting to real tight.
I have to admit all this treadmill and weight lifting
make s me feel better about getting up in the AM.
I am hopeing that this will allow me to ride for longer
hours and not hurt as bad after I am done for the day.
There now it is Valk related !

Dave, don't worry so much about the weight. Muscle weighs more (is more dense) than fat, so you can lose girth and, potentially, not lose weight. Keep up the good work!  cooldude

Good for you shortleg, keep it up.  Wink I started at the Gym about 12 years ago after I retired from working 60 - 70 hours a week. I went from a 38 jacket to a 42. Could not wear any of my suits, shirts. Need to be strong to hold up a Valk.  Smiley Don`t slack off on your work out`s, easy to do. I still have mine M-W-F mornings. Good luck.

I've been a member of my fitness club for about 4 years.  I mostly walk and lift weights to keep me going.
Don't worry about gaining weight as muscle weighs more than fat.

At almost 82 I can't think of anything more important than exercising regularly.  It makes a difference.

Keep it up Shortleg Dave. cooldude

Congrats on doing the gym thing. I gotta get back to it too. Good luck with your program. Yup, Muscle weighs more than  ahem, fat.
