Last year I posted about cooling off my seat and sheep skin seemed to be popular. I never got around to ordering them or anything else. I'm tired of having a hot butt and a horse shoe wet mark on the back of my pants. Not good looking at all. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,111602.0.html

Haven't spent any money on my bike for a while so looks like I'm going to try out some sheep skin covers from here, https://alaskaleather.com/collections/sheepskin-buttpads

Anyone have these? They give you the option of long hair or cut shorter. Which option would be better? I don't think I like the looks of the long hair ones but if they work better I might go that route.

Other thing is they seem to sell dyed and natural skins. They also say the dyed may stain you pants or seat. I have black seats so no problem there but anyone have a problem with your pants getting stained? I either wear blue jeans or riding pants so it's not really a problem I don't think. Do these seat covers lose their color over a few years? I would go natural if that is the case...

Anyone have these seat covers and have something to say about them?

I have the long hair version on both my Valkyrie and my Goldwing and they are great !Really make long rides comfortable.Biggest fan is my wife who tends to get a sore butt on long rides, she's much more comfortable on these. Only negative is , when used constantly they will matt down , simple solution is a sturdy pet hair brush will fluff them right back up.

I've used sheepskin for a long time. I like my "Fluffy".

I wore one out after several cross country trips. Replaced it with a new one. Never noticed any pants staining. My sheepskins are grey.

Called the place up, made order, here from AL in days. Only problem is they showed up in heat index day of 108 degrees. These things are nicely made. My wife's comment was, "Why is motorcycle stuff so well made? Every time you buy motorcycle stuff it's always well made. Not cheap but it's worth what the price is."

Wife and I tried out the sheep skins and honestly that day was just to hot much of anything to work. I think my seat is more comfortable now and surprisingly I don't slide at all. I thought that might be a problem butt it isn't. They look like they are molding right into the shape shape so no problems there.

Went out today and my butt had no problems, nice and dry. Going take a month or so to really know how worth while these are butt so far I'm impressed.

If it is raining and you duck into a gas station, take the seat cover in with you.  It holds a lot of rainwater.

Botman Nick (RIP) used to sell these a long time ago when the club was first active. I think I have one of his around here somewhere,

And this...which is what I'd choose if I was looking for an all-weather cover. I like my gel pads for colder weather as they do retain and reflect a bit of body heat, but neither gel nor wool is the way to go in warm, wet summer weather.
