Rams came yesterday and I saw the rat bike as I heard someone call it lol He took the last two valkyrie parts that I own now my building is empty  Oh My Lord, I'm thinking we just had a leader change in the Annual Southern Storyteller contest. Yes that should Bruce but I did not even have a chance with the one I told against Ron (Rams) so good luck my friend Ladies and Gents, Competition is good but, it was mentioned in the Annual Southern Storytellers (A.S.S.) secret meeting that some folks are going to have to step up their game to have a chance to keep up with some of the professionals who have expressed an interest in winning the prestigious prizes being awarded. The A.S.S. committee members have asked me to survey the participants attending Spring Fling on whether or not Professional Liars (Politicians) should be allowed to participate. In that f6gal is President of VRCC, it has been deemed that she may in fact be a politician. So, it's your call, what say you? Rams |

In order to assure the highest levels of quality story telling by attendees, it will be our policy to keep all attendees well trained through our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T.). We are trying to give Spring Fling attendees more S.H.I.T. than anyone else.
If you feel you do not receive your share of S.H.I.T. at the ride in or in discussion prior, please see Rams. You will be immediately placed at the top of the S.H.I.T. list, and our ride organizers are especially skilled at seeing that you get all the S.H.I.T. you can handle.
Riders who don't take their S.H.I.T. will be placed in DEPARTMENTAL ETTENDEE (Work with me here!) EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T). Those who fail to take their D.E.E.P. I was so blown away and impressed that he'd bothered to do that, I just didn't have the heart to tell him the truth... I pretended to love it and raved about it for some time! You even joined in as my 'adjunct scholar' on the subject...

Hey y'all, I'm local to Hattiesburg these days. After flagging Rams down in a local riding group on the world wide interwebs, I had the extreme displeasure of meeting him for the first time in person at the local strip joint for lunch the other day. Imagine my surprise when the fella rolled in on a Rune. Always wanted one of those! We both agreed that the company was terrible but the lunch was in fact, pretty good, and he invited me to this Spring Fling type deal next month, despite the fact that its been nearly a decade since I swung a leg over my last Honda, a 2005 VTX 1300R. He mentioned something about a lying contest, and I assured him I'm no good at any of that, but I sure would like to spectate and hang out with some nice folks.  |

To all attendees, I just got word this morning that the rooms that were reserved for us with parking outside your room door must be changed due to construction being done on that part of the building. I have now reserved the entire first floor of the adjacent building and any additional rooms we need on the second floor. We will have a section of the parking lot reserved just for us. This is unforeseen and hotel management is working with me to make this right. No action is required of those who already registered, you'll still be getting a ground floor room.

Sweet Cheeks, No Ma'am!!! You are most definitely not alone with that lament! In fact, I'm sitting here looking out at a brilliant cloudless morning... but with very cool temps! I'm figuratively kicking myself for not going on and making a ride to someplace this very morning. Maybe today, but it's looking more like tomorrow as the clock continues to tick and the stubborn thermometer refuses to budge... I just read your post, and a thought occurred to me... What about a longcut ride to the Fling through east Texas? I'd even buy a round or two of Shiner Bocks... We could 'kill several birds with one stone' so to speak... Scratch an itch, quench a thirst, experience an adventure, acquire more bragging rights... Shoot, by the time we arrived in Hattiesburg, we could simply tell the truth and still win the story-telling contest! Ponder on it some... Definitely not the only one! It was 50 and cloudy on Saturday, but I needed a little two wheel wind therapy. I don't really have any cold weather gear other than a hoody and some gloves, made it work but it sure was chilly at speed. Thankfully, it looks like the warm weather is on the way! Can't wait. What about a longcut ride to the Fling through east Texas? I'd even buy a round or two of Shiner Bocks... We could 'kill several birds with one stone' so to speak... Scratch an itch, quench a thirst, experience an adventure, acquire more bragging rights... Shoot, by the time we arrived in Hattiesburg, we could simply tell the truth and still win the story-telling contest! Ponder on it some... Who knows, there might even be a couple of others interested in such a ride...?

Nothing would make me happier, but I opened my big mouth last week and have commitments. I am driving a neighbor for cataract surgery on Wednesday. I then have to pick up my niece on Friday. Her spring break is next week and she has been begging to spend some time with us. She will be with us until next Wednesday. Once I take her home, I will pack and leave for Hattiesburg on Thursday. Well, wasn't that a big surprise! You won't believe this, but a wrench has been thrown into the gears of my planning machinery! Hard to figure that such a long-held belief could have been so far off base, but the proof is in the providing of the product!
My SIL, Pam, said she'd seen Shiner Bock in a local grocery store here in Ocala. I told her otherwise, but when she returned from Publix yesterday afternoon, she had two six packs of that delightful 'Republic' longneck treat. So, Tubby and I celebrated that event last night, and... The urgency for a ride to Texas before the Fling evaporated. Ya just never know what might pop-up at any time and totally reverse one's thinking...
Now I'm left with this powerful itch and one of the drivers for route selection has gone away... I'm thinking I just might head for the eastern Carolinas again, but who knows. I haven't checked the weather just yet, so the 'where' of this ride is still a mystery. Also, it's pretty cool outside again this morning, so I may wimp out another time and choose to stay and finish those brews this evening with my bud... Tubby said he didn't object. It ain't always easy being me, but it sure is fun!!!

Serk, I sure thought so, as well! I was quite confident the Sabine River was the line of demarcation, but... Somehow the Publix in Ocala got some, however, and... you know... We sampled it and it sure looked and tasted like the real thing... bottles were even authentic looking... Fluke? New discovery? I dunno, but it has at least solved part of my directional riding dilemma... Naturally, I'm still scratching my head and pondering the whole thing, but... I'm definitely going to ride out by in the morning... if I don't actually leave today... most likely... DDT |

Well, when you're here in Hattiesburg for Spring Fling, both Buffalo Wild Wings and Walk-ons sports bar has Shiner Bock on tap. Haven't tried to find it in stores, but could take a peek this week. |

Dark Horse, Well sir, you've made Tubby's day! He muchly prefers draft to bottled brews, so this will certainly be good news for him! The End Times are surely upon us! I did some searching, and apparently Shiner Bock beer is exported to all states except Hawaii now... Just for S&G I searched and this is some of the retail locations one can pick up some Shiner near Central Park in New York City (Get a rope!)!  You can even pick some up in the thriving megalopolis of Juneau Alaska!  |
