Bicyclists. Important distinction.

Pretty sure this isn't going to end well. Dying last words of the bicyclist after getting clocked by a truck "But they said I didn't have to stop. They sai..."

Maybe it's different around here, but they don't stop as it is, won't change anything IMHO...

I just wish they'd stop riding side by side 20-30 deep causing rolling traffic jams on back country highways but meh...

MOTORCYCLES could go through stop lights that wouldn't change in NC before we left in 2018.... come to a FULL STOP, look, then proceed when safe.

The Colorado law, known as the Idaho stop is an interesting concept. My first reaction was that bicyclists should be required to observe the same rules at intersections as all other vehicles. But, after very limited research on the subject, maybe there is support for the distinction.

MOTORCYCLES could go through stop lights that wouldn't change in NC before we left in 2018.... come to a FULL STOP, look, then proceed when safe.

A completely different concept. (IMHO, a stupid attempt to legislate common sense, but I do not want to hijack the thread.)

Whole heartedly agree.   I lived in KY for quite a while in the general proximity of Lexington, KY.   While Lexington is known for several things, one is all the biking routes in the vicinity.   I just happened to live on one of the scenic routes that the bicyclists liked to take.   It was a fairly narrow two-lane road, no bike lane.   Can't tell you how many times I almost clipped a cyclist while pulling large trailers.   Ya try to give them all the room they need but, then they swerve and swing all over the road like they own it.

Just my opinion but, when bicyclist start paying road taxes, I'll consider them as rightful users.
