I’ve got one of these: VIVOHOME Steel Hydraulic Motorcycle ATV Lift Jack Hoist Stand 1500 lbs Black https://a.co/d/c5cbosy

And I’ve got a Honda Valkyrie

The guy at the Harley shop said it should be no problem to just put the jack right on the oil pan and lift the bike up. I sort of believe that because it looks pretty sturdy, but thought I’d ask you guys first.

You do anything different?

Remember: jacking it is fun, but please do so safely Smiley

You almost certainly need an adapter to do it easily and safely...

MarkT, a site sponsor whose Horseapple Ranch ads run at the top of the page,
makes a good one.

There's plans for a home made adapter too...

The oil pan is sturdy enough that's not a problem. But to center the bike length-wise, the rear arm of the lift has to be at least plumb with the crossmember for the kickstand bracket. The flat oil pan doesn't extend that far back.

If you lift at the oil pan alone, only the front wheel will get lifted off the floor. The lift jack fulcrum point has to be shifted to the rear of the bike for a more level lift. to lift the rear wheel. Just try it yourself, taking too long to explain this.

Make sure you keep off the kickstand bolt. It will eventually break.

I have been looking for Mark T's jack adapter but cannot find one.
Horseapple Ranch site has exhausts but no adapters.
Any help?  Too late??
 Huh?
Thanks,

 bill.
