I use this filter on my 31 yr old F150 and my 28 yr old Valk Tourer. Prior internet sites turned me on to this filter. Here is a pretty good video on its internal construction.

I've been using my stash of an oversized PureOne PL14459. larger dia, same length as OEM.
Extra oil is needed to have correct level on dipstick

#3/4" larger in diameter? Never had I've heard 3/4" larger diameter being used but...

The M110 and Bosch #3323 are 3/4" longer that I've been using on the Valk and VT1100C.

Other 3/4" longer filters at 2008 appx. listing date thus the prices.  Wink

About 3.25 inches long:

Purolator One PL14610, about $6.
Purolator Boss PBL14610.
Royal Purple 10-2808.
Mobil 1 M1-110, about $10.
 Made by Champion.
Mobil M1MC-134
Bosch 3323, about $6.
 Made By Champion.
WalMart SuperTech ST7317,
 about $2. Made by Champion.

About 2.5 inches long which is stock length:

Purolator One PL14612, about $6.
Mobil M1-108, about $12.
 Made by Champion.
Bosch 3300, about $6.
 Made by Champion.
Wal-Mart SuperTech ST6607
 Made by Champion.

Same.  I used to buy the blue ones, but the BOSS comes in Black, so I buy that one now.  Smiley

I didn't care if the filter media was the same size as the Blue PL14610.  I was just happy that the PBL14610 was black and I didn't have to sand and paint the Blue one to Black.  Cheesy

I used to use the Pure One filters after reading tests showing they were the best. Then several years ago complaints emerged from users who cut open the filter to find tears in the media material. There are dozens of posts about this on sites like Bob Is The Oil Guy. I doubt this is still a problem since Purolator was purchased by the German company Mann+Hummel, which is why the colors and product names changed. M+H also bought Wix.

I switched to Bosch filters for a few years just to be safe, but when the local Autozone stopped carrying them I decided to try the cheap Super Tech filters from Walmart. These get good reviews and from what I've read are currently made by Champion, who also makes Bosch and Mobil 1 filters.

I was still a bit concerned about how well a $3 filter would perform, so I had the oil analyzed before and after the switch. I was pleasantly surprised that the test results improved slightly after switching! So I'm staying with the cheap Super Tech filters.
