Filters that have the OE Honda filter check valve, so if it gets a hole, all your oil doesn't leak down and get all over your rear tire.

I use a Purolator Pure One PL14610 with Chrome Oil Filter Cover ($1.79 Salt Shaker). laugh
*NOTE: 4 qts.(not 3.9 qts.), can be added when you use a  3.5" long oil filter such as the PL14610. It also has a 14 psi by-pass valve, anti-drain back valve. police

Bone: The filter you use is made in China for Purolater. It's pretty cheap and has low ratings. Use the PL14610 made in the USA. It's Purolater's Pure One line. Here in AZ, I buy them at Pep Boys. Can't find them anywhere else.

Another post says that Wally World has them. It must be regional stocking differences. Look at Purolator's website for a local supplier.

What's wrong with a yellow oil filter?

You could always paint it black...or use an oil filter cover.  Just know that if you're using the longer of the Pure One filters that most chrome oil filter covers won't fit over the longer filter.

Did a little shopping and research. Here is what I have found about Purolator oil filters.
I now have 3 oil filters  2 PL14610 and 1 L14610

On the label it tells you the mfg. location.
The white filter is the one I bought at Walmart. Made in the USA  97.5% Efficient and model L14610
2 Yellow filters 1 from Advanced Auto and 1 from K Mart. Both made in the USA and model PL14610 and 99.5% efficient
 Advanced Auto $6.09
K Mart              $4.79
WalMart            ??

Guess the color of the box is the color of the filter

Gavin, I use the same yellow filter and cover it with a BudLight can top.  I get more questions asked about the beer can than I do over the custom paint job....  hahahahaha   Cheesy

Nice thing about a beer can filter cover is you get a cold drink while you install it.

I work on a military base.

I used to have a cut-off Budweiser can over my yellow Pure One filter.

To get on base, you have to go through the gate and get your ID checked.  No problem with that.

One night on the way to work, one of the gate guards (after checking my ID) held out his hand and yelled hault.  Whipped out his billy club and pointed it down at my beer can oil filter cover and demanded to know what it was.

At first, I though he was joking.  He wasn't.

He also had zero sense of humor.   uglystupid2

I painted my Pure 1 with rattlecan black-- Ill try the beer can mojo --  angel

I read  on an oil filter subject in the past that of the 2 pur's filters  tho one is longer than the  other there is no more filtering surface area  inside ,  is this still true?

If so then why the H is one longer?  the dif?

 PL14610 or PL14612.

The 14612's will fit under a "Cobra" oil filter cover. The 14612's are just a little longer, but they do fit without a problem.  I've been using that combo for many years.  Just saying.
