My friend found a guy selling a custom made carbon fiber tank for the Valkyrie. Anyone ever heard of this?

A couple of folks have had these. They seem to be prone to cracks over time. About 9 gallons as I remember. I've crossed the country 5 times with a standard tank and have had no problems. Except that one time, but my buddy had a tow strap and we were in sight of Roswell, NM. Had the needles set too rich.

He said this one was 8 gallons. Kind of tempting but I dont want to have any issues with leaking. Not sure what other issues could pop up like the seat fitting.

Think about an R&R belly tank, they work well and are fairly inexpensive.

Here are a couple of old pics of the Carbon fiber supertank I had. I enjoyed the supertank while I had it. They develop pin holes that allow enough gas to leak out to bubble the paint and then it gets worse. I sent mine back to Advanced Composites Engineering to be resealed but when I got it back I decided that even my original std. tank was big enough for me 99 percent of the time. I liked the look as much as anything,it stood out around other Valks but I was looking at another 3 color paint job so after ACE resealed it I sold it to Mike @ Valkyrie Bling & More with full disclosure about the tanks history.

First time I've seen this tank. I already have the belly tank.
What a combo those two would make. 12 gallons total.

Let's see...12 gallons x 35 MPG = 420 miles. 420 ÷ 70 MPH = 6 hours between pee & food breaks. Now...5 gallons x 35 ÷ 70 = 2½ hours maximum to relief. I think I'll stick to my Tourer tank at least until I get an Ultimate seat.

I have some people working on a 8-9 gallon fuelTtank. It will not be prone to leaks as the old carbon fiber tanks, simply due to new technology. I am hoping to introduce one or two at INZANE. They should be around the $600 - $700 range. These new tanks will be able to use the existing cap and ring. It iwll also accomodate the sending unit for the Interstate. We are also working on a newly designed side cover. It will be a 2 piece set eliminating the need for the tabs on the center that seem to break all the time. Again, I am hoping to introduce samples at Inzane, I need to make sure that they are right.
