Well, here's the rub...  The way I did the paint, with the proper primer, and the Mercury Outboard motor paint, they have held up well, but not perfect  Undecided  I've got between 8K - 10K on them since the project, and I did a bit of touch up when I pulled the beast out of it's winter sleep, this past spring.

The touch up was to cover some small 'dings' from, what I assume are, stones and other road stuff.  Even my Suburban has small paint chips, from stuff tossed by drivers ahead of me, on the leading edge of the hood.

I've given some thought to having them powder coated, the next time I need to replace a fork seal, but for now, I just clean them up a bit, and hit any chips with a light squirt of the Mercury black paint, and all is good  Wink

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...
