First the good news.
My riding buddy is alright!! Not a physical scratch on him, although he’s got several
severe bruises on his legs and he’s quite shaken up.
Now, the bad.
An elderly man, pulled out in front of him causing him to T-bone his back end. His cycle
hit the trunk area while he flew over it and landed on the pavement. His cycle had both
front forks bent back a tad, but was still in good enough condition to be ridden home.
Right engine guard bent back, windshield smashed, right mirror gone, radiator bent, and
several other things I’m sure we don’t know of yet. I believe his helmet did an
excellent job, considering the gash left behind from the asphalt would have been in his
skull.
Apparently he came over a crest of a hill when this old guy first pulled out in front of
him, and then quickly turned left into his driveway never checking his rear view mirror,
or looking to the left before turning onto the road.
