i got myself on the list as well.
Andy promised to update his site when he has more people on it.

Those who are interested in the future, i would not wait and hope for another opportunity ; get on or forget about it.

http://www.directdiscountusa.com/detail.asp?Product_ID=VMC-E

if there are any more Europeans interested, i propose to organise a group shipment to reduce transport costs.
Just add a comment to your order "combined shipment to Europe", so that Andy knows when it's time to ship.
We can work the details out when it's clear where most pipes are going.

I've been bogarting a set of Viking pipes from the last production run. Still in the box unopened. I'll pick up another set this time around too. Grin

Got my name on the list however it doesn't seem like its going to happen due to not enough people wanting to buy. Heres Andy's email from today.

I have contacted all the people that are on the "interest list" and am steering everyone to the same option. you will need to purchase a spot in the online store. This is the best way for me to keep all the serious parites in an organized database. I plan to pull the trigger on this when we reach 25+ on the list. at current, there were 8 people on the interest list and 3 people that have purchased in the store (11 total). i contacted the 8 people...let them know that to stay on the list and so we know who is serious and who isnt that they will need to go to the link that you found and make the purchase. This will cost you only the $50 fee, and will be applied to the total purchase. I will begin next week...updating that item with how many people have purchsed a spot so everyone will know how close we are.

I will be out of town the rest of the week this week and the early part of next week, so i cannot be reached by phone...but i always check my emails. if you have any questions, or concerns...please let me know and i will do what i can to get you an answer asap.

I look forward to getting this moving...and to seeing your name on the list

What kind of price are we talking about?  Like everyone else I would love the sound and power of a good set of pipes, but everything is relative.  And price is a determining factor.

Does any one have any further information on the planning for that new production run of viking pipes ?

i did not get any response to my email inquiry to Andy, so I hope some of you heard more.

if i look at the posters here on this thread,
the following should be on the waiting list :
- Redline
- The X Ray Man
- valk/gixxer rider
- Anthony
- Jeff K
- F7daved
- bish
Do you guys know more?

I have got the time to wait, riding season is almost over anyway,

Not really sure, but when Andy emailed me in August he indicated it would take 25 people for him to do this. The list is really short. Not sure why he not responding to your email ???

OK...so here is an update for all of you.

I have been getting calls and emails ever since justin and i closed viking. After i sat down and combined all the names and numbers from all my scattered lists i actually had close to 20 people. plus what was going on over here.

That being said, i called, emailed, and left messages at every contact point i had and told everyone that we were going to try to pull it together and make a run, if they were serious, and wanted to be included to go to my site and purchase the marker.

Well...now comes the bad news...and i prob should have seen it coming. Only 6 people purchased the marker. All the other people were either fishing, or not serious, or have changed their mind...etc....you can fill in the blanks with the excuses.

I have 6 people
0. Kozloski
1. Bishop
2. Greenhause
3. VanDenBossche
4. Michaels
5. Mathes

if you dont see your name on the list, call me and we will fig out what happened. I may have missed one in my haste to make a post...but not more than that.

Andy, I may be the missing guy of the list......I did the 50.00 deposit on your website.
Last name: Manley. That does seem like a shameful turnout, come on guys this is most
likely a one time shot.....

This may sound (pun) funny, but I would like to see volume levels, in dB, for these exhaust systems. Here in Edmonton they have passed a motorcycle noise bylaw, and it looks like California is following suit. As more jurisdictions jump on this bandwagon it becomes important to know the volume levels of the pipes before pouring over $1k into something cool that we can't use.
I like the idea of Mild to Wild; loud fun around town without the drone on longer hi-way trips, but if I can only use the mild, there are less expensive options...

Another Idea; If MarkT could use these headers rather than stock cores, it could solve some of his supply issues, as well as shipping costs...
I know this may create some competition friction, but wouldn't both manufacturers benefit here?
Fred.

yeah Fred, that's on my schedule.  Right after this:

Where did you get the idea I have supply issues?  I have no problem at all getting excellent headers.

Some advice:  Such a suggestion is overstepping protocol bounds, to say the least.  Don't go there.

I do realize how much it cost to do a run

Hey Dave, you is talkin GROSS here not NET.

Each set of pipes costs Andy a small chunk of change.

Take that cost from the Gross and ya got peanuts left for profit.

Andy is a businessman, and he needs to make at least a quarter on each set.

The chart says 7488 rpm at 160mph,  have to guess the motor was way past the rev limiter, not the dyno.      LOL

Gonna have to jump in here..Hp increase is significant with the Viking performance exhaust, look at this link and it is obvious that the tuned header will open the Air flow...Lamont started @ 128 hp with the stock headpipe and you can read the increase in this thread..My motor is completely stock with just bolt on's Magnacharger Viking exhaust Dyna 3000 timing retard, stock pistons No headwork or cams.,My first ever dyno run without touching a screwdriver was 143 Hp, and just had a Dyno run yesterday and with some jetting brought my Torque up to 127 ft lb. http://www.timskelton.com/valkyrie/tech/supercharger.htm

I think it's appropriate to point out that the stock headers become the hp bottleneck if you increase the flow elsewhere in the air pump.  That is, port & polish the heads and the stock headers can impede the horsepower gains you would otherwise see from the port job.  Similarly true with a blower - even more so.  Otherwise, if the engine is normally aspirated without port work on the heads, the Honda engineered headers match pretty well with the flow pumping through the heads.  IOW, one will see these kinds of power gains from larger tuned headers if he has improved the flow in the heads and/or installed a blower.  I had a 327 Chevy in a '63 Nova I built back in the 70's. Punched to 331, installed headers, replacing the stock exhaust, didn't see a lot of change, though I had an Edelbrock Tarantula manifold & a Holly 660 and 3/4 race grind cam.  Bought a set of ported and polished heads w/ oversize valves, installed & KATY BAR THE DOOR!  Man what a difference when I had a matched system without bottlenecks.  Car ran like a raped ape - spanked all comers!  I found out for myself, it's important to set it up as a system, try to balance the components so they are compatible.

Anyone know how much exposure this thread has to those that might be interested in a different exhaust system ??  In other words, is it also posted on other Valkyrie forum boards ??  More exposure would give this thing a better chance of happening ??  Just saying ....

If I didn't already have a set My name would be on the list... For those concerned with the noise, a set of 4" baffles from GW torque Monster mufflers keeps the back seat passenger happy and they slip right in. I don't know how anyone can say that these pipes don't give an HP increase. They sure woke my bike up....

I just bolted on a set of Mark Ts with crossover and 40 stacks on my 2000 tourer and  it now gets 52 mpg,  and has 130 rear wheel horse power, a 50% reduced carbon foot print , my boss gave me a raise, tires are lasting 40k miles and women are throwing themselves at my feet. Well worth the money imho!!    lol
I am about 70% done installing them and am hoping for the above results!! But if they sound good and I dont lose power I will be happy because they are just the bitchinist looking  pipes I have ever seen.
I will post photos when I complete the operation. I am also goin solo and wiring up the hitch and removing some of the chrome stuff that came on it..
Mark built me some 40 side mitre cuts with 1.5 organ pipes. I thought about just mounting them on the wall in the living room they looked so good!  Heck I would park the bike in the familyroom if I could do it and stay out of divorce court..
