Republic of Texas

To all our VRCC brothers and sisters (and anyone else!) who may be in northeast Texas, passing through, or looking for a great reason to visit...

Our very own Chris "Ghillie" Armstrong and family have put a tremendous amount of time and effort organizing our first Poker Run with proceeds being donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation / Ride for Kids.

For those who would like to come, but don't have a built-in guest room to flop in, there is a newly-remodeled Motel 6 very near our starting location.  $40 for single or double.  Just mention Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club and/or Confirmation 1121181728

Motel 6 Dallas - Plano NE #1121, 2550 North Central Expressway, US 75 at Park Boulevard/15th Street, Plano, TX, 75074
Phone: (972) 578-1626, FAX: (972) 423-6994

Here's the Route.

Here's the DFW Charity Run website.

Here's the Facebook Page.

Click here for the related thread on the Texas Board.

Good luck with this.  Hope all goes well. Wish I had the time to ride there and join you.

Been volunteering with RFK for 17 years.  Have met a lot of great kids.

That's some real history helping sick kids, Popeye.  Maybe we'll make it to the Chicago RFK one year soon.

Hope to have some out of state Valks at this run.  Should be easy for OK, AR & LA to come by for some fun to help these kids!

SideCar,

Working with RFK has been on of the most rewarding things I have done in my life.  I just hope one
day all the research that RFK funds will find the cause and cure of pediatric brain tumors and kids will
not longer suffer from brain tumors.  I know RFK is making a difference but we still need to keep on the throttle.  Good luck with your event.

Great note, David! Looks like all the particulars are very well covered. Now, if we can just share a little of the fun factor of getting together with our riding buds and doing something really significant for the kids. The experience will leave us all with a lump in the throat and something more than motorcycling in common!

We sure hope to see some lone distance riders on June 19th. Who will get the award for riding the farthest? ~Jeff

Hey Rick~ Thanks for chiming in on the R4K experience!

As for the BMW, she is so much fun I can overlook her spindly looks. One of the guys on ADVrider.com puts it in a nut shell as his signature line...

"Dood, lower your expectations a little, the BMW GS isn't the Homecoming Queen OR Prom Queen, it's the band camp girl you really wanna take to the dance cause you know you are gonna have a good time."

The raffle prizes are now pushing $1000. I hope everyone can at least try to make it to Hank's at the end of the day.
