Friday night Sept. 3 Isle Of Capri Hotel & Casino 645 South Canal St. Natchez,MS 1-800-843-4753...Be sure to say " The Smokin'joe Ride " to get the discount....Rooms are $69.00 for both single and double....According to the lady I've been dealing with ( Kari ) this is $20.00 off the rate.We must sell 10 rooms to get this discount.You will get a free $10.00 Casino Voucher at check in also. Saturday morning we'll hit The Natchez Trace with a couple planned stop's along the way ....( Vicksburg National Military Park ....Windsor Ruins ) Saturday night's motel will be .... I'll be talking to Beekeeper later this evening, or tomorrow. I'm almost positive he will want to make this ride. I'm thinking that if the doctor tells me I still can't ride, I will cage it to Booneville Saturday and have supper ready for when ya'll get there. I'm thinking Louisiana red beans and rice, maybe a pot roast, with all the fixins and dessert. Or if someone would rather another dish, just let me know  |

Hey Guys! Just made my reservations in Natchez and Boonville for the trip! When I gave the motel operator in Boonville the date she asked if I was with the Smokin'joe Ride. I think we are having a positive impact on the tourism market there. I'll make the ride from Natchez to up by Jackson TN and break off from the formation there and visit family and head back to Oklahoma from there. I graduated from Mississippi State in 1973 and have only been back in that area once or twice since then. I'm really looking forward to the ride! |

Mike it's my plan to leave out thursday as well ( still gotta run it by my boss however I see no problem ) anyway or anywhere we could hook-up ? Here's a general route I worked out, around 7 hours of riding each day, plus stops, getting lost, going through congested wal-mart zones I never would have picked had I known any better, stuff like that... http://tinyurl.com/234tojpI haven't calculated what the midway point is, other than it is probably somewhere South of Birmingham. I've spent some long days just riding to Cheaha through North Georgia... this route is probably quicker through there than some I've used... We're all set Joe....this ride is sounding better everyday....staying at the casino, gambling, drinking, eating and surrounded by pretty women and men uglier then me.... Not forgetting the riding and friends.. We're leaving Thursday and will ride south of Birmingham that evening, I need to call my friend Leon and maybe he can stop by for a hello....would have liked to made Punishers but I don't see that happening...we'll be staying at the Jamieson Inn in Bessemer, Ala. If you get a cooopin (Ron White) from one of those travel mags...the rooms are around 59 bucks....from there on to Natchez....we'll see ya there...anyone wanting to hook up for the ride down, let us know.... |

I'll call the hotel tomorrow and check, to make sure they have the ten rooms booked.....I think you'll get more then the ten from the looks of this post....its had a 1000 hits already.....I just got off the phone with Wolf10 and he said he may try to make this ride also, there are also alot of folks waiting till the middle of the month to commit because of there schedules....I'm looking forward to this ride.....Donna better make plenty of vittles sat. nite..  Ron also said when we go to scout out next years ride to W.Va. to let him know, he'll check it out with us...if you get off on Thursday, maybe you can meet up with us south of Birmingham at the Jamieson Inn...I'll stay in touch.  |

If you folks will have me, I will ride also. Will call the motels tomorrow. Haven't ridden much in the last three years(since Ieta left here), hopefull this will get me back in the saddle again. Will repost after confirming motels....
